Scratching my head
neverenoughgold25 October 2022
Ordinarily, I find NCIS entertaining and occasionally humorous. Not going to get into any specifics to give away the synopsis, but this is one of the screwiest episodes yet. Maybe the producers felt it was time to give Casey a major role, but the interrogation room scenes were way off the chart. Perhaps the writers were on vacation?

The episode a while back where Casey and Jimmy were stick in the cafe was interesting, cleverly written, and even fun at times, but this one just didn't cut it as far as I am concerned.

The fall break is around the corner and hopefully the writers will get some new ideas. I am one who is waiting to see.

Missing the Boldness
BurntSanctuary2 November 2022
NCIS managed Gibbs/Mark Harmon leaving quite well. I like Parker and the whole team. There have been some interesting episodes this season as well, but this one was very off. Even then, I just have no episode yet that made me go "wow", neither does there seem to be any plot setup since the Raven, which I hope is still yet to come.

I just feel like NCIS is sticking to their formula, without getting any bold surprises or setups, which makes it really stale and boring. Additionally there have been too many relationships and love stories for a crime series within just this season pushed onto me.

And this episode just really showed the staleness with the poor writing on top of everything. It really seemed like they wanted to get a good setup and personal story for Kasie. The character surely can have her stories, but the writing was very boring in the way of not really being able to build a big connection. No plot that you couldn't see coming, no big boom and just generally not a lot happening that got me interested in this episode. Honestly think she deserves better than that, because I love her character.

The Good Fighter

Warning: Spoilers
I will admit that I was not the biggest fan of Kasie at first, but she has grown on me a little bit over the last season or so.

This was a fun episode at times, but like a lot of NCIS episodes it just felt like they only had about 20 good minutes of content and things got a little dull after awhile. When you rely on McGee for comedy for a few scenes you are simply asking for trouble here.

The show is having a decent 20th season and it turns out they are doing just fine without Mark Harmon in the fold, but this episode was just kind of so-so. Definitely one that you could skip if you need the time back.

NCIS Producers Think We Are Dumb
supermodelyum28 October 2022
What an absolutely RIDICULOUS EPISODE!!

Gone are the days when NCIS had multiple plots and story arcs. Now we have simplistic plots, goofy dialogue & one dimensional characters.

Honestly, if you're going to write a specialty episode just for a dumb side character, at least make it interesting. This "Casey is super amazing at everything" thread the show keeps pulling is LAME. (It's like making Urkle a super hero - DUMB!)

I've watched this show since the first episode & am about to pull the plug on it. I'd hoped that the addition of Gary Cole was going to bring something interesting to the show. But it feels like the show has been re-tooled as a kid's program.

The dialogue has become ridiculous, the plots have become ridiculous, the constant grade-school gossip circles are ridiculous, the lack of any REAL knowledge on how NCIS (and other criminal agencies) work is ridiculous.

When i was growing up LOTS of shows had adult characters behaving ad adults. Today all shows seem to have replaced their leads with 20-somethings or adults acting just as juvenile.

Sad that the producers of NCIS think their audience is too dumb for real adult plots, characters & dialogue.

Drive a wooden stake thru the proverbial heart of this show!

IMHO With this episode of NCIS, it's time to pull the plug on what use to be an excellent show. The writers must not be able to come up with a good idea and have solicited script submissions from a 6th grade woke writing class.

This episode should be titled "Who the Cat Clawed". Hard to believe what use to be considered riveting drama is now pablum for feeble minds. I will have to reconsider my continued viewing of NCIS.

The show use to tell stories that related real world politics and circumstances. Of course it was fiction but the terrorist were realistic not a contrived social justice fairytale.

Rather bad

Warning: Spoilers
Kimberly- Rose Wolter, the writer of this episode, has written three stories in "NCIS" so far. "Collective Memory" had a fun idea and a decent execution, "The Brat Pack" was not very good though. It felt like the story didn't have much to offer, other than a solid message about being a parent. "The Good Fighter" is unfortunately even worse.

Let's start with the good.

. The production values of the episode are great. "The Good Fighter" is well-directed, the music fits the scenery. The acting's fine. Diona Reasonover gives probably her best performance as Casey.

. There are occasional laughs and the first 10-15 minutes of the case are promising. Liked that the story focused on Casey.

But...

. After a promising setup the story feels padded and unfocused. Some parts of it get really stupid. Too much time is dedicated to stuff that has little to do with the mystery. The case, which has a pretty predictable outcome, gets a bit confusing at times, because of a lot of information is delivered in a quick succession. Worst of all, is the dialogue. It is agreed quite jarring at times.

Overall, not good.

3/10 HK.

Must be one of the worst episodes ever...
linda-810-61921923 November 2022
I nearly fell asleep while watching this episode. It was so boring. Gone are the days of comedy, action and plot twists.

I sure do miss the old team. MacGee is the only character holding this episode together, Jimmy too. Other than that, it's a bore fest.

Bring back some of the old team, before you completely ruin a really good series. I used to look forward to watching new episodes every week and counted down the days to the new season. Unfortunately this season is falling flat.

I am hoping this next episode and the rest of the season improves. I don't want to stop watching after 20 seasons.

Too much dumb dialogue and lacking in plot
charleshp14 October 2023
This was a very disappointing episode.

Too much inane talking trying to cover over the fact that they are struggling to stretch the limited storyline to last 43 minutes. And some times the talking is at the most ludicrous of times (as if these highly intelligent people are totally lacking in common-sense).

Too many plot holes in the very limited plot that there is to make that plot credible. If you are going to have IT as a theme, at least let it get the technical basics right.

I've watched every episode of NCIS from the beginning but the lack of new ideas means that the whole series is beginning to wear thin.
