Outstanding. Need more Gulendam and Mert

The first three episodes of this series were outstanding. No filler scenes, flowing narrative, good acting and excellent chemistry between potential couples. I mainly watch this for the secondary couple, Gulendam and Mert. There is so much narrative and character development that can be implemented there, I HOPE THE WRITERS SEE THAT. The primary couple were good, and the angst was doing it for me but the whole "beauty+beast" romance is outdated to be honest.

I hope they don't destroy the complexity of the story by destroying Mert and Gulendam characters and their relationship because these dizis tend to destroy secondary couples out of nowhere. They both need the love of family and they can only get that if they work together to build it. I just want them to be happy.

A modern Turkish retelling of Beauty and the Beast, this hate to love introduced me to the smoldering Murat Unalmis and this romantic is thrilled!

I actually really enjoyed this modern Turkish retelling of Beauty and The Beast. Murat Unalmis and Melis Sezen, as Gülcemal and Deva, had amazing chemistry and really made this hate to love series one to watch. The supporting cast was phenomenal and Avda Aksel as Zafer made a wonderful villain in this over-arching story of estranged mother and son. At times it was difficult to watch Zafer being so phenomenally evil...although it did make Gülcemal's wins that much greater. Shockingly, the series had lots of secrets and surprise twists that really kept you coming back for more. This was one 2023 series that I looked forward to every week and was disappointed when it was over. That leads me to the final episode, episode 13...for which I have mixed emotions. I really enjoyed the reunion, which was bittersweet knowing the series was over, but the bits with Zafer felt unbelievable. She was such an evil villain, I would have liked to see something a little more suiting to her big personality.

I was surprised that there was as much violence between the two main characters....stabbing, hitting, shooting, yelling. There are no holds barred in this hate to love.

As a romantic, I love the hate to love genre and I highly recommend this fairly short (13 episodes) Turkish series. Forced proximity and great banter are a signature of the series...but it really is all about Gülcemal and Deva. Romantics will be enthralled. I was inspired to buy the book My Sweet Orange Tree because of the references in this series, a book I had never heard of.

My review is based on watching the series in it's original Turkish language with English subtitles.

Great series, but wrong choice for female lead

I gave the show 6 starts not because it's not good, but because of the female lead. She overacts. I keep skipping some scenes until I no longer see her. The story is great, the plot is definitely not cliché. However the cast for the female lead role is not right for me.

When I watched the first episode, I wanted to give it a 10 rating, since it was really good, but now I am at episode 9, I find it hard to keep watching it. Melis is not fit to play the role of Deva, it's a real shame they didn't choose someone else's.

I have seen half of the cast in previous roles and I love the mother's acting, spot on. However, this is my first time seeing Melis Sezen, I don't know if it's her first acting or acting as the lead at all (I haven't done any research about her) but she is too much. (slightly like the actor playing the role of her real mother)

Overall, the series is really good, I love how Gulendam's husband is a bad guy wanna be, but cowardly funny on his own. I want to say that I would love to see how the story will develop and the characters change to reach or not that happy ending. But, when I think about the female lead's scenes, I doubt it.

Just Outstanding, and I am excited to watch the rest of the series.

The first episode of this TV series was outstanding, and I am excited to watch the rest of the series. The actors portrayed their roles with subtlety and nuance, making their performances is incredibly. The male and female leads had excellent chemistry. The story was complex, layered, and kept me on the edge of my seat, with a fantastic blend of intrigue, drama, and romance.

I completely understand that some people do not appreciate a good revenge story with intricate and intense emotions. However, for those who do, this TV series is a must-watch. The first episode was not predictable at all, and it kept me guessing until the very end. I did not need to fast-forward through any part of the episode, as every scene was essential to the overall narrative. I am excited to watch the rest of the series and see how the story unfolds.

I am loving this series. I've got my friends hooked on to it too!

I love the chemistry between Deva & Gulcemal and I cannot wait to see them fall more and more in love with each other.

The story line is very unique. Not like your typical Turkish dramas.

Please release more episodes!! I can't wait any longer.

The producers, the actors, the story writers really did a good job in this series. The plot twist is just so good and unexpected!

For those who are not yet certain if they should watch this series or not, TRUST ME. I watched all 4 episodes in one sitting and it did not disappoint.

Give it a shot, you will love it!

The best movie

It is very beautiful and stunning and it is taken from the story of Beauty and the Beast . Morat and Melis are very talented actors with great backgrounds. Murat is a very capable actor he doesn't just play every role, he lives it. I really enjoyed seeing their strong acting and especially the movie scenes. Watching this movie brought back my childhood memories. The scenes of the movie are very well filmed and it looks like a wonderful piece of art. I definitely recommend watching it, you will be captivated by this movie and you don't want to ignore the excellent acting of the actors. I can't wait for the next episodes.

Wasted potential

After watching some clips on tiktok, i got totally hyped up to watch this series. I literally spend my whole day watching this series. It was going good, the pacing was good, a little charming and i also loved the love hate relationship between the main two leads. But then came episode 4, and messed up everything. The pace got bad characters suddenly became so frustrating that it was unwatchable. I was just slipping everything because it was giving me headache. If you want watch until ep 3 and youre gonna love but after that it went downhill. I really wished this drama would keep its charm, but they literally slapped me on my face.

Guldev supremacy

This was an extraordinarily plot. It's not only consist about love story. There's a lesson about inner child. How someone mentally affected by someone they loved most in live. U should watch this dizi. It beyond recommended... the plot was amazing and the actor delivers a masterpiece character in every episode. They develop every scene in every episode beautifully, once I tried this dizi will directly got into your live. The scenery, the ambiance, even the song was so amazing. Gulcemal was a bold character, compatible to deva the fierce lady. The supporting cast also build this dizi more perfect.

To be honest, I thought it was gonna be cheesy and cliche, it isn't too bad after all. It's just that it's always the same thing. Threats and lying and not admitting the simple truth. Also I think Gülcemal's an @hole for just assuming everything. And it's just like everyone knows eachother, its kind of pointless watching it. There's some content worth watching but I wouldn't spend so much hours seeing a girl getting constantly kidnapped and a guy acting so narcissistic. I can see why it got canceled, but if it was a bit more properly written, it wpuld have had potential. Good gone to waste. I'm about to finish it, they got some serious mommy and daddy issues. 👍

Melodramatic predictable revenge drama

I normally don't give a review after 1 episode (as of to-date only 1 episode and 2 trailers of episode 2 are released) but since I don't think I'll continue with this series, I'm writing my review for this episode and why I don't have interest to follow the series further. The posters and pictures of the drama series look good which was why I decided to watch the first episode. However, within an hour into the episode I knew it wasn't going to work for me. The acting is very exaggerated and clinched. Many shots look pretentious. Within 1 episode and 2 trailers, you have either the male or female lead pointing arrow, guns, knife at each other. Clenching each other with burning gazes, pushing each other, threatening each other etc etc. As regards the story, it's going to be a huge bitter revenge struggle. I do understand some enjoy a convoluted high strung revenge story with high emotional romance thrown in. If it works for you, then you may enjoy this series. I had to do a bit of fast forwarding just to finish episode 1 and episode 1 was very predictable.

Highly recommended. Catching!!!!

It is a captivating story from the beginning, an excellent visual and acting quality. Perhaps the main actress Melis Sezen is not the one I would have chosen but I notice a lot of effort in her to be part of the project. I see her a bit forced in some scenes but it should be noted that she has very good chemistry with Gulcemal who is the one who holds the plot.

Murat Ünalmis is a high-quality, charismatic actor with a great track record. The story revolves around him but he is very well surrounded by other actors such as the one who plays his mother, Ayda Askel, brother-in-law Edip Tepeli, etc. I am counting the days to see the next chapter, I hope this series will be long-lived . I love these kinds of stories: they don't differ much from real life. Where there is passion, fury, love: all human feelings.

Poor cast, not interesting story, bad actors

Not interesting from the 1st watch, I never watch any of episodes in whole, only with fast forward and skipping. I am not surprised because it was cancelled. Not good actors to whom you can "believe" in what they acting, probably because the story itself wasn't interesting to them as well. Not good.

Ask i Memnu will stay the best forever and it was filmed in 2010. Masumlar apartmani has great story with great effect on human mind with promoting family value. The Turkish TV Shows became like music, hyperproduction eats quality. Great actors choose their roles. Not accepting everything offer!! Didn't like from the first trailer.

Dizi is great, I recommend everyone, I can't stop thinking about next episode. It is so exciting and the main actor Mr Murat is handsome and great actor. I'm sure if you watch first episode you will watch the others shortly after. There are also commic moments , moments of hate, moments of love, son's suffering for his mother. Every episode is better than the previous. Personally, I didn't watch Turkish series for years, but this one is boooombaaaa and I sincerly hope that it will have the second season because it deserves. The chemistry between main characters is incredible, they look very powerful!!!

A modern Beauty and the beast Fairytale ... what's not to love?

I love it.from the first episode you will know that this is your modern retelling of the beloved childhood fairy tale beauty and the beast.

The lead actors are perfect for the roles and their chemistry is electrifying just wow.

The scenes are Captivating and the dialogue is so touching.

Also the side stories are interesting especially the hero's sister story .

The story lines are very quick not boring at all like most of the turkish series the paste is so quick.

Also the music is awesome and will put you in the right mood

If you re a fan of this fairy tale this is the perfect show to watch.

Worth watching , please write a review so they don't cancel the show !!!

This is one of the best shows ever it's a rlly lovely series to watch. I really do recommend watching it! Please GIVE A REVIEW SO THE SHOW DOES NOT GET CANCELED ITS WORTH WATCHING IT TRUST ME! The actors in the show are really good actors and this show deserves all the love and support from the people that love this series. Really worth watching the chemistry that they have is immaculate the drama that goes on is good as well please Fox don't cancel the show please people love this show so much and it's worth watching it so please don't cancel it. Best Modern Day Retelling of Beauty and the Beast

This is an amazing story line. Murat Unalmis and Melis Sezen have the best chemistry and the story gets better with every episode. Murat has a way of living his character. He lives as Gulcemal. I get so immersed and lost in the story when I watch him. Melis is relatively new but she is proving to be one of the best new actresses. Her chemistry and harmony with Murat make them the only possible Deva and Gulcemal. We love their story. I hope the show continues. I'm obsessed and the world of Gulcemal is the best retelling of Beauty and the Beast I have ever seen. Bravo to the cast, director and screenwriter.

Really I love it and I love the chemistry between the two leads+ the story of the beauty and beast and how they brought it to life. I also like the revenge story which I know will develop overtime as we can see in Gülcemal desire to destroy his mum but at the same time he's also just a child wanting to be loved.

I highly recommend this drama to anyone who's looking for something nice fast paced with no boring events.

I pray the rating will go up since we all know the taste of them ( they want 1000 ep with no action).

I can't wait for next eps, and see how the relationship between Deva and Gülcemal will go . I just hope the rating will go 🆙

The most amazing drama!!

This series has been making me want everyday to be Thursday as I anticipate every week to watch it! I love this drama so much because it's fast pacing and the plot isn't dragged. Every new episode is filled with a new problem that is always resolved by the end of the episode. Most importantly, this series is not just about revenge but it has a bunch of comedy and humor along with many tearful scenes! All the characters are well developed and unique in their own ways. This drama gives me Beauty and the Beast vibes with the beautiful cinematography and well written. The chemistry between the main protagonist is just fire whether if it is through their touch, stares or hugs!

I FOUND A TREASURE

This series is amazing! It's been a long time since a Turkish series caught up my attention, I knew the actor from a previous series so I wanted to see his new project, and I'm gladly I did, this is definitely worth to watch!!

In Turkish series is common that the secrets keeps as secrets during ALL the episodes, and in this one they don't!! And that's amazing because you can keep the tracking with the plot.

If you like romance books, with tropes of enemies to lovers , love, revenge and a little bit of fairy tale you should WACTH this!!!

Plus, the actors are TOP TIER, you can see and feel the emotions through the screen.

Gulcemal movie

This movie is a masterpiece. In addition to the fantasy scenes of the film, we see a very beautiful love. Combining a love and revenge. It reminds me of the most beautiful anime of my childhood, Beauty and the Beast. The casting is excellent because they really look like Belle and the Beast . I look forward to the new episode every week. Golcemal's mother cursed him when he was a child that no woman will ever love him, but we see that he deserves to be loved more than anyone. He deserves the love of our beautiful princess. The couple of the movie has made a beautiful harmony and sexy tension together.

Such a masterpiece series I love it I'm obsessed with it can't wait tell the next episode.

Enemies to lover's story , deva and gulcemal the chemistry of this couple is unbelievable, the storyline is really interesting. MelisSezen and MuratUnalmis did such a great work and made this dizi desserv more attention and more love Show it more love and attention please .

I came to watch this series because of tiktok i thought it would be a cringey love story where kidnapping is romanticised bt that's not the story the female lead has personality even though her acting is mid her character is likable there's many story in to it like im very emotional person so i cried in some scenes really good story and mert's acting is amazing he plays his character very well...gulcemal is also hot af and he's not a toxic guy either basically the didn't right him a typical mafia toxic guy he have personality and he's really nice overall it's not a typical kidnapping story....

Truly captivating storyline

From the start, the story was captivating. Not a moment of frustration to watch the show. Every episode was captivating from Gulcemal taking Deva hostage. Reminded me of so many English shows like Pride n Prejudice, Beauty and the Beast. But the Director had a better story to tell in Gulcemal. It is truly a drama worth watching. However end of season 1 was a shocker. Wasn't expecting Gulcemal to commit suicide and give up. Heart throbbing tearing scene between mother and son. Hoping a comeback of some kind (saviour of some kind of Gulcemal somewhere down the cliff) for Season 2.

Loved the story plot, all the cast acting, and movie direction.

A stunning series, it's amazing to see how the actors play the character and it's amazing to see the content written for the series. It is impossible not to fall in love with each of the actors there. Many people watch this series, there are a lot of series that need to learn how to make a great series, usually most of the series with music and looks instead of talking and doing. Everything is progressing and not stuck, each episode we wait and look forward to the next episode to come. May this series not end. Respect to all those involved in the craft. We really like every detail there. Stunning actors, it's really fun to watch every episode. Well done!
