Storyline
Did you know
- TriviaThe ship found in the abandoned shipyard, which is stolen to get D'Erika back to her wedding, appears to be a Raven-type ship, the same type of vessel that 7 of 9's human family had been traveling on in Star Trek: Voyager (1995) before being attacked by the Borg.
- GoofsWhen Mariner is stabbed in the discotheque, she pulls it out and places it in a jar which holds other bloody knives. All the other knives also have red blood stains. But there are no other humans on Orion; Mariner and T'Lyn are the first off-worlders. The other knives should have Orion green blood on them, not red.
- Quotes
[Tendi, Mariner, and T'Lyn enter an Orion discotheque looking for information. They walk up to the bar]
Bartender: [pouring shots of delaq for Tendi and her entourage] It's on the house, Mistress. And *that* is from the Madame.
D'Vana Tendi: [a knife flies in from where the bartender indicated. It strikes Mariner in the right shoulder. She falls to the floor] Mariner!
Beckett Mariner: [groaning as she get up off the floor] Oh, God! All good. I love it, actually. All part of the ambience.
[Mariner pulls the knife out and puts it in a jar the bartender holds, which holds every other bloody knives]

Too goofy
Lower Decks has always been fun and weird. But in season 4 the plots have become just goofy and stupid. It looks like Boim and the rest have become dumber after promotion to Ltd. JGs.
The bonsai fights, the twin Twains and Mozarts on holodeck... just childish and pointless. Then the slapstick comedy where Mariner gets a knife stabbed three times in her shoulder. It felt like the Stooges to me.
But rockbottom in this episode is the pheromones dungeon on Orion. Looks like Lower Decks blows the "women are the greatest" horn now, too, after ST Discovery shoved that political agenda already down our throats. Men on Orion are mindless sex objects that do anything if only they can sniff the pheromones of women under their arms. And if course Tendi is a bad-ass assassin that everyone on Orion fears. If this would habe been shown the other way round (woman being the sex puppets of men) the outrage and shitstorm on social media would have been epic and the writers of this episode would have to swear to never again write an ST episode.
In Lower Decks all the idiots and weirdos are male while females are either sly, genius, brave, bad-ass or reasonable. And season 4 stretches this premise to the max.
