Gloria Swanson appears making an escorted tour of the Festival of Britain construction site before its official opening.
During the Goons sequence, the soundtracks briefly cuts out when the toast is proposed. They actually say "The King!" (the standard toast of the time) but the decision was made to mute it as the King had died not long before release.
The film affords a rare chance to see Michael Bentine perform with his fellow Goons at an Aeolian Hall recording of BBC Home Service Radio's "Crazy People".
Bobby Breen, Paul Adam (as Paul Adam and His Mayfair Music), Diana Coupland Tony Fayne and David Evans, Harry Secombe, Peter Sellers, Ray Ellington, Michael Bentine, Spike Milligan, The Eastbourne Girls Choir, Harold Smart (as Harold Smart at the Hammond Organ) and Les Girls des Folies-Bergère (as Thirty Bergere Lovelies) all receive 'Guest Artists' credits.
