General Petraeus! Kristen Stewart! Simon Cowell! Valérie Trierweiler! Can't anyone keep it in their pants nowadays?
The most commonly asked question about celebrity culture is probably the easiest to answer. "What is the point," everyone loves to despair, "of all these ridiculous people?" But isn't it obvious? To make us feel so much better about our own dysfunctional relationships, of course.

There was tension in the family on "The Houstons: On Our Own." Grandma Cissy Houston was trying to come see her grandchildren, but Bobbi Kristina was avoiding her.
"I don't know why she don't like me," Cissy said, but Bobbi Kristina explained it for the cameras. She was uncomfortable with the tell-all book Cissy had agreed to write about her daughter Whitney -- Bobbi Kristina's mother. It was an understandable concern, but she could have approached her grandmother with her fears and talked about it.
Instead, it was Bobbi Kristina's uncle who sought her out and assured her that the book wasn't going to get ugly about Whitney Houston or her life. Reports have the book set to be published in June 2013.
As for Bobbi Kristina and Cissy, they did finally spend time together, even ending the visit with a hug.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Whitney Houston’s family filed a petition, as executors of the Pop star’s estate, against Bobbi Kristina Brown in an attempt to revise the 19-year-old’s inheritance payments.
Now, just weeks later, it appears that the case has apparently been settled.
Sources tell TMZ, that Kristina and her grandmother, Cissy Houston, have reached an agreement to leave the teenager’s $20 million payment plans unadjusted. As the agreement currently stands, Brown will receive 10% when she turns 21, 20% at age 25, and the remaining amount when she turns 30.
The singer’s mother, Cissy Houston and sister-in-law/business manager, Pat Houston originally sought out to revise Brown’s inheritance payments citing that she “is a highly visible target for those who would exert undue influence over her inheritance and/or seek to benefit from respondent's resources and celebrity."

Bobbi Kristina Brown is in serious trouble. That's what TMZ's sources say about the daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. The 19-year-old's drinking problems were showcased on the first episode of "The Houstons: On Our Own," and sources say her behavior has escalated since wrapping the reality shoots.
Worried onlookers say Bobbi Kristina has allowed the same people who enabled Whitney to have too much influence in her life. Whitney's sister and manager, Pat Houston, suggested taking her niece to California, but TMZ's sources fear she'll get stuck with the same drug counselor who treated Whitney, and feel she'll suffer the same fate.

Whitney Houston's family debuted their new reality show on Lifetime on Oct. 24. Plus, Bobbi Kristina showcased the beginning of a potential downward spiral, three months after her mother's tragic passing. On the series premiere of The Houstons: On Our Own, Bobbi Kristina butted heads with her family over underage drinking, starting her career, and defending her engagement to her stepbrother Nick Gordon. While some have raised eyebrows at the idea of the Houston family filming a reality show only three months after Whitney Houston's passing, the episode begins with a touching moment -- Bobbi visiting Whitney's grave for the very first time. It's raw and feels very personal. However, the series quickly moves into the dramatic sorts as Bobbi enjoys an alcoholic drink -- and she's only 19 years old. "She's not at drinking age," her aunt Patricia Houston complains. Aside from going against her aunt's wishes, the reality...

Not again! Bobby Brownwas arrested in Los Angeles early this morning, racking up his second DUI of 2012. We had imagined it was pretty hard to get two DUIs in under a year, what with license suspension and other disciplinary actions. But that just goes to show you that L.A. is a hell of a place! Police told TMZ that Brown was pulled over around 1 Am for cruising “erratically.” Although to be fair to Bobby, we’ve driven in L.A. and “erratically” is pretty much the only way to do it. The cops caught a massive whiff of booze on Brown’s breath, and immediately administered a field sobriety test. After he failed, Bobby was brought downtown and booked for driving under the influence.

So there we were, checking out photos of Bobbi Kristina Brown, her brother-lover Nick Gordon, soul legend Cissy Houston at the rest of the Houston/Brown crew at last night’s red carpet premiere party for The Houstons: On Our Own. But then it slowly dawned on us: It seemed pretty rough. Don’t get us wrong, everyone looked great as they strolled into New York’s Tribeca Grand Hotel. But they just seemed so visibly uncomfortable, as if they were being ordered down the red carpet at gun point. The forced frozen smiles, the awkwardly stiff poses. Don’t get us wrong, we’ve had way more than our fair share of unflattering photos over the years. But it was like the Houston’s would rather be anywhere else, and it bummed us out! Although we get that they’ve been through a lot, and it has to be...

The confirmation comes by way of a sneak peek of the upcoming Lifetime reality show “The Houstons: On Our Own," obtained by E! News. Through what sounded like a nervous giggle, Bobbi announces, "We're engaged!"

Here’s a reality TV hook that tops them all! Bobbi Kristina Brown announced her engagement to “adopted brother” Nick Gordon to her family as the cameras rolled for her new Lifetime series The Houstons: On Our Own. Umm…ok, we’ll bite. The first trailer for the show has dropped, and Bobbi’s relationship with Nick is featured front and center. The clip starts off with the couple being cringe-ily couple-y, snugging and donning matching outfits as her family diagnose her with a bad case of “Nick-itis.” Emotions are already raw between the relatives as they cope with the recent passing of Bobbi’s mother Whitney Houston as well as her father Bobby Brown’s substance problems. So the Bobbi-Nick shack-up is probably not helping matters much.
“There’s more to life than having a boyfriend,” her aunt Pat insists to her. But Bobbi isn’t having it. “It...

Following the death of legendary singer Whitney Houston, her family has... landed a reality show. Naturally. "The Houstons: On Our Own" is set to premiere Oct. 24 at 9 p.m. Est with back-to-back half-hour episodes on Lifetime.
The reality show will follow those who were closest to Whitney. Focusing on her daughter and only heir, Bobbi Kristina Brown, the show will also feature Pat Houston, Whitney's sister-in-law and manager, Whitney's niece Rayah, brother Gary, and mother Cissy.
Nick Gordon, Whitney's unofficially adopted son, will also feature. Gordon has lived with the singer and her family since his childhood, when Whitney invited him to live with her family after his birth mother couldn't take care of him. Now, the 23-year-old is said to be dating 19-year-old Bobbi Kristina. Though he's publicly stated that they're "just close" like siblings, Bobbi Kristina has posted photos of them kissing on her Instagram account. This should be interesting.
