The dead rock star in this episode is a reference to Keith Richards, who wrote the song (Shine a Light) played at the funeral and is known for his drug abuse in the past. However, Richards is still alive and abstaining heroin at the moment.
Halfway through the episode, when Hank is talking to Faith at the rock star's funeral, he sits down on ( his former friend) Ashby's lifesize tombstone. As he does, the name plate moves. Real nameplates don't move.
