In the "City Hunter" comic Ryo wears a Balmacaan coat, in the animes he wears a blue jacket, and in this film he wears a trenchcoat.
This is the first Japanese adaptation of Tsukasa Hôjô's "City Hunter" comic. There had previously been adaptations in China (City Hunter (1993) and Meng Bo (1996)), Korea (City Hunter (2011)) and France (City Hunter (2018)).
