May The Worst Person Win
atlasmb20 October 2023
If you enjoy villainy, this may be the series for you. The producers have assembled ten so-called vlllains to compete for $200,000. Each of them is a veteran of reality TV who earned a reputation for treachery or unlikability.

Joel McHale hosts the show. The villains live in a "lair" that is a cross between the "Bachelor" house and the the "Big Brother" compound. They compete in a "Battle Royale" to determine who will be the head villain of each week. That person nominates three villains for possible banishment, who then compete in a "redemption challenge" to save one of them. The other contestants vote to determine which of the remaining two villains is banished.

The ten villains come from such shows as "Survivor", "The Apprentice" and "Love and Hip Hop". One of them may have an advantage because he has competed in more than twenty seasons of competitive reality TV. One of them proved herself to be villainous well beyond TV. All of them have inflated egos.

Expect plenty of posturing and melodramatic monologues. This show does not rank highly among all reality shows, but it definitely fills a unique niche in the genre.

If you like reality tv you will like this show

If you like reality tv you will like this show. It has me laughing the entire time, it's not anything to take too seriously. It has a playfulness to it that I miss with reality tv. The confessionals are hilarious and editing brings out the "villain" personas of each person, yes it's exaggerated but that's what I love the most. This cast is really bringing the theatrics. Im surprised and so impressed at how well constructed this show is considering it's the first season. Also love Joel as the host. You can literally feel them having fun through the screen which makes me enjoy it that much more.

Stick with It
justjoanwilder8 December 2023
The show keeps getting funnier and funnier. I first started watching because I am a Challenge fan, and I wanted to see how Johnny Bananas would be portrayed. I usually hate him on The Challenge, but I find myself rooting for him on this show.

I'm also familiar with the other characters and their respective shows. I hated Shake on his show, Omarosa, on her show, and Johnny Fairplay on his shows. On this show however, they're all super funny and play right into the villain characters. Bobby and all the other characters are hilarious also.

Joel McHale and the production crew really know how to work the show and make it entertaining.

I almost quit watching after the first episode because it seems so boring and contrived. But I gave it a couple more episodes and by the third episodes I was hooked. I only gave it nine stars because I don't think there should be a second season. I just don't think it would be as good as the first.

If you're a reality fan, this show is for you

Anyone reviewing this show as less than five is not the target audience. If you love reality shows, if you love competition and if you love drama, this show is for you. The humor is 10 out of 10, the fights are petty and the gameplay is advanced. I'm laughing out loud every single episode, and half of the house guests are as well. My only complaint would be that there is a deficit between people coming in who has played strategy games before and people who have not but that makes the dynamic that much funnier. This show is a gift for the seasoned reality show viewer. If you're not watching house of villains, you're missing out on the most fun hour of TV happening right now.

(and this is coming from a person who's literal 2 favorite television shows are airing right now)

Should have been named House of Creampuffs
redshroom22 December 2023
Absolutely LOVED this show until that JOKE of a final vote!!! They didn't crown the "Supervillain" of the house. They should have called her prize "Everyone's Favorite Sweetheart". If you're going to do that, properly name the show "House of Creampuffs" and don't WASTE 10 episodes worth of my life!!! They didn't vote for who played the best game for what the show was named. In the end, it was the same as just about every other reality show final vote... And, I see plenty of those... If Bananas (REALLY?!?!?) wanted her to have the money, he should have took the crown that was indisputably his and gave her the money...

This show is amazing
ndmdrnq7 December 2023
I was confused when I saw the low IMDb rating on account of how fantastic this show is. Being a huge big brother/survivor/general reality tv fan, it gives competitive gameplay and chaotic behavior from a group of large personalities. Omarosa delivers just like she did in the Big Brother house and Bananas and Fairplay are fun to see their minds work on the competition angle. I really have nothing bad to say about this show so far after 7 episodes in and I love how it never takes itself too seriously. I hope there's a season 2, and give it a shot and take it for what's it's worth. Entertaining, competitive gameplay.

When will it ever end???!!!
daryle-0102726 October 2023
Here we go again! Another contrived reality show where a bunch of annoying untalented "D"reality celebrities act ignorant, inappropriate and disrespectful towards each other. Again...television viewers get to sit back and witness screaming, cursing and downright insulting behavior!!! Unfortunately...it seems s high percentage of the viewership watching these atrocities going on are impressionable...easily mislead young girls and boys...teenagers!!! We sit back astonishingly and begrudgingly watch todays youth plummet right down the tubes! Respect and compliance..has become DEFECT and DEFIANCE...especially towards their elders...having practically disappeared from the minds of our children. Which we all then sit back and ponder..."How and when could this all had started happening?!" Look no further my friends...here is the perfect answer to that vague perplexity!!!🙄🙄🙄🙄😴😴😴😴😴

Hilarious and Unserious
emilybeck-761777 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This is genius reality TV, they deserve an award for best idea for a reality TV Show. They pulled reality tv villains from all eras and all genres, so no matter what franchise you watch you hate someone on this show. They're so committed to the villain theme is amazing I've ever seen. The challenges are hilarious and the dialogue is pure Shakespeare. They even bring Abby Lee Miller in. It doesn't get better than this. Joel as a host is so unserious and plays into the stupidity perfectly. I'm so excited to see what personalities come into the house next! This show will definitely get a second season! Pure camp!

Best reality tv concept ever.
mandalikestoart30 October 2023
Each person brings their own spark to the show. None of those stars shine as bright as Tiffany (New York) Pollard. She is in her delulu era and I'm hear for it. Challenge fans will recognize some of Johnny Bananas old tricks. Omarosa is as cunning and blunt just like she was on Celebrity Big Brother. The way each player is eliminates is hilarious. Joel McHale is the perfect host. The editing is pretty good. Only bad thing is the cliffhangers but I can get over that. Watching these people who have been on my television for twenty years separately interact with each other is a pleasure. The villains know their roles and came to play.

The first reality show I have enjoyed in years
victoria_zahl22 December 2023
Usually I avoid reality shows as I find them fake, over edited and predictable. I'm so happy I gave this a chance. It felt like a refreshing take on the genre. The concept is to put "villains" from different reality shows into the same house and make them compete for a prize of $200,000.

From the beginning I expected that most of these people were probably willing to stirr up drama and manipulate their way to the top, they are villains after all. Strangely, I felt like this made the contestants seem more real. They don't get the chance to pretend they have nothing to hide and a lot of them seem to like the role of villain.

Most of the drama is light-hearted and the commentary from the host, the contestants and the production crew is pretty funny, at times hilarious.

Hoping there will be more seasons.

A train wreck you CAN look away from
tsora-9075626 October 2023
While the concept of the show may sound entertaining, it actually plays out very pointlessly. The first 50 minute episode truly dragged. The only somewhat fun drama was Corine getting snubbed then threatening the wrath of bachelor nation upon her snubber. Otherwise it felt like a diluted version of big brother. The competition was not fun to watch the way it was edited (or maybe just period), and really failed to add much of anything to our entertainment. It did however reveal the secret lair aspect of the show (HOH Big brother position essentially) which was mildly entertaining, but did not hold nearly the level of excitement the show clearly expected. During the many takes explaining what the show is to the contestants even they seemed bored with this already. What especially did not aid in the show was the preview of the season literally spoon feeding us the words "this show is definitely getting a second season" at least 5 times by characters in the show. We don't need to hear that it is getting a second season, we need to like it enough to want a second season. I am checking out after one episode and the only reason I would return is for the guest who appears on the show at some point from our favorite dance drama set in Pittsburgh.

Brilliantly Funny
lesliezdry3 December 2023
This is the show I look most forward to viewing each week. The Houseguests are magic, Joel McHale as Host is perfectly snarky and even the production crew who pop in and out complete the narrative and nurture the tone of the show.

It's a fresh take on all of these redundant reality shows with manufactured drama. Somehow, despite their villain titles and behavior, there is something equally charming about each contestant. The show also is an interesting examination, whether intended or not, of the burden and, maybe in some cases, desperation of having and keeping the image up. I can't believe more people aren't watching.

I don't know who created the show but I want to personally thank them for this incredibly fresh spin on reality tv competition shows. I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. I only wish there was a way they all could remain in the house together while competing. The house dynamics are so good that it is almost more painful to see a contestant go than a deserving player on The Amazing Race or Survivor. I didn't even know half of the contestants before watching but now I genuinely am fascinated by them all.

So there you have it. This is the show to watch. Here's to hoping for a reunion episode of House of Villains!

They're Missing the Point
ibewalsh-738-26907122 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
If you're going to create a show of D list celebrities that is going to give the most cutthroat, calculating, devious and evil villain $200K, shouldn't the person who fits that description be the winner? ***SPOILER ALERT***. It ends up being someone who wins a best personality contest and has a hard luck story. Very disappointing ending to what could have been a super good show.

Joel McHale is the host and he is always good for some laughs and snarky comments. He gives it as good as he gets it and that makes the show worth watching for that reason alone. I will be surprised if this show gets renewed for another season.

A show that will be talked about for years.
maebyfunke198924 December 2023
This is "The Sopranos" of reality tv, even if we only get a season of this show it will be referenced and quoted for years to come.

I watched with a grin from ear to ear a show that is not afraid to let its flaws show, giving us an inside and sometimes raw look into what goes on behind the scenes of making reality television.

Most of the cast played to win and if not they were there to play the "villain" role they have been assigned.

The competitions were equitable, where anyone could win at any point which also contributed to the fluidity of power, and by definition created the drama that is sought in such a show like this.

Any reality show out there should be looking at this show and learn from it.

If you dismiss reality tv as dumb or vapid or exploitative this show isn't gonna change your mind, stay on your high horse because I will be praying for a season 2 of House of Villains and I will be seated.

Great show
dinojoeybell26 February 2024
Love to hate these villains!!!! It's a game show of conniving people under one roof and it's perfect for reality lovers. You get to see their personalities at their worst and somewhat best LoL.

Also mixing from different shows makes me interested in checking those other shows also. You have Joel mchale as host-perfect to amp up the snark!! Your female voice Eva delivers too. This group knows to make fun of themselves and strategize their game.

Bring on more seasons please. Maybe see if Americas Next Top Model's villains and Housewives meanies are available. I'm sure they can find many reality baddies to do this show.
