This is the first time I've reviewed an individual episode.
Oh boy. I mean, I'm still trying to process what I've just witnessed. Right now, I don't think words like "amazing" or "brilliant" are enough to describe how I felt about this episode. So I'm going to go with - UNBELIEVABLE. I mean this was a movie-length episode, and it was a masterpiece. You know it's the fact that I was already so hyped for this anime, and it still managed to surprise me so incredibly, that's what amazed me.
Let me just calm down a bit and tell you why I liked it so much. First of all the plot is definitely very weird. And the initial 10 minutes will in fact feel weird. But afterwards I realised that this story takes its characters very seriously. It explores emotions, that I just wasn't ready for. It really explores what it means to be an actress, or be in the entertainment industry. And it's not just about how deep it explores these things, it's about how well it did it. I can't spoil exactly what all I liked in case you know nothing about the story. But I really liked all the characters and how they portrayed their own troubles. And man, the story took some turns that I just wasn't expecting. I was not expecting something like this from the author of Love is War. I mean there is some nice comedy as well, but the story and the drama is going to completely steal the show.
And seriously, I cried, and I was just not ready for that. Doga Kobo's art and animation is great too. And the direction that this story took towards the end of the episode was just unbelievable. I think an incredibly entertaining story is on our way and I just can't wait.
If I could rate this episode alone, I would've given it a 10/10. But I'll have to resist my temptation and wait for the entire anime to come out.
But seriously, this anime deserves all the hype that it's receiving.
