  • In examining his rise as a fashion designer, the film explores Yves Saint Laurent's sexuality and his relationship with Pierre Berge with some descriptions of their relationship.
  • There are also scenes where gay men and women are seen behaving intimately and kissing.
  • There is also a sexual scene where a man thrusts against a woman pressed against a wall.
  • A man poses nude for a photo shoot.
  • A man goes into a room where two men are asleep and he starts kissing and caressing one of them (it is implied that they have sex).
  • Women are shown wearing revealing bathing suits in a swimming pool.
  • We briefly see a topless woman back stage at a fashion show.
  • Some outfits worn by the women in this film have short hemlines and low plunging necklines.

Violence & Gore

  • A woman slaps a man after he makes a crude remark about her hairstyle. A man throws a vase at another man in anger (he does not get hit). Lots of intense arguments.

Profanity

  • Lots of profanity said in french and one derogatory term for Asians (chink)

  • Considerable amount of cigarette smoking.
  • There are a few scenes of drug use where both men and women are seen snorting drugs, and in one particular scene, consuming recreational drugs. The film, however, does not promote or encourage drug and substance abuse.
