Las Vegas, Nevada: 55-year-old Ted Binion, the owner of Binion's Horseshoe Casino, was a wealthy casino tycoon who was found dead in 1998 inside his home at 2408 Palomino Lane. At first, his death appeared to be an overdose. His live-in girlfriend, Sandy Murphy, called 911. In the end, Sandy and her lover, Rick Tabish, were both arrested and both convicted of Ted's murder in May 2000 in a joint trial. The first trial was overturned by an appellate court on minor technicalities. The second trial began in October 2004, and the prosecution had to withhold critical evidence from the jury. This time, the jury found both Sandy and Rick innocent, in spite of the overwhelming evidence against them.
