At the start of the episode, over flashback scenes of her giving birth to Cliff, Donna narrates, "I've won nine Tonys. I've given birth to thirty-four Broadway shows. But, if someone asks me what my favorite thing I've ever made is: 'Mamma Mia'! Hands down, changed the trajectory of my whole career. That's a joke. Producers can be funny. People don't realize that."
Though Donna is saying that she is prouder of being Cliff's mother than of any show she ever produced, the joke is that "Mamma Mia" is also the title of a very successful Broadway show. The 2008 movie version, Mamma Mia! (2008), starred Meryl Streep (Loretta Durkin) playing a character, who is also called Donna.

At the start of the episode, Loretta expresses how exciting it is to be "invited into the inter-sanctum like this" and Charles says that it must be like watching the documentary watching Paul McCartney writing "Get Back". In the previous scene, where Donna DeMeo is in a flashback about the birth of her son Cliff, the whiteboard says the "nurse on duty" is P Jackson. The director of "Get Back" was, of course, Peter Jackson. Also, Loretta then says "And thank you for yesterday", which sounds like another compliment for one of Paul McCartney's most famous songs, "Yesterday".
The final text in the credits has a missing space between the words "copyright" and "in" in the clause that says: For the purposes of United Kingdom copyright, 20th television was the owner of the copyrightin this television production immediately after it was made".
