With Southland now canceled, Regina King has signed up to return to CBS's comedy hit, The Big Bang Theory, playing the director of employee relations at the university where star Jim Parsons' character works. King's character was last seen fending off numerous romantic advances of the man at the office, who all seek job stability. The Big Bang Theory returns for a 7th season with back-to-back episodes on September 26, at 8pm, on CBS. King booked a co-starring on ABC‘s comedy pilot titled Divorce: A Love Story, which is based on an Israeli series; but it wasn't picked up to series, unfortunately. She's making her feature...

Exclusive: Amy Aquino, who was the last regular cast in ABC‘s multi-camera comedy pilot Divorce: A Love Story, joining the project a week ago, has now left. Based on an Israeli format, Divorce centers on Kenny (Jason Jones) and Robin (Andrea Anders), a recently divorced couple who can’t seem to stay out of each others’ lives. Aquino was to play Kenny’s overbearing mother. I hear a decision was made to recast the role after the cast got together and it was determined by the producers that Aquino looked too young to play Jones’ mother. (I guess of all reasons a fiftysomething actress can be given, this qualifies as possibly the most flattering one.) Aquino and Jones’ real-life age difference is 16 years, which is not that unusual for TV. Jane Seymour, who is 11 years older than Kelly Preston, plays her mother on another ABC comedy pilot, Keep Calm & Karey On.

Amy Aquino (Being Human) rounds out the cast of ABC‘s multi-camera comedy pilot Divorce: A Love Story, from Sony TV and ABC Studios. Based on an Israeli format, Divorce centers on Kenny (Jason Jones) and Robin (Andrea Anders), a recently divorced couple who were bad together but discover they’re even worse apart and can’t seem to stay out of each others’ lives. Aquino, repped by Greene & Assoc. and manager Randy James, will play Kenny’s overbearing mother whose obsession in life is to see Kenny and Robin back together. Comedian Seaton Smith rounds out the cast of another comedy pilot, NBC’s John Mulaney project. Written/exec produced by Mulaney and exec produced by Robert Carlock and Lorne Michaels, the comedy is a young ensemble focused on John (Mulaney), whose naïve and often pointles, desire to “be a good person” challenges his friendship with his roommates, Jane...

More pilot casting news... Regina King has signed up to co-star in ABC‘s comedy pilot titled Divorce: A Love Story, from writers Mike Sikowitz & Daniel Lappin, which is based on an Israeli series. The comedy will follow a recently divorced couple who weren't very good for each other when they were together, and who learn that they’re even worse off now that they are apart, and can’t seem to stay out of each others’ lives. Regina King won't be playing one half of the couple, unfortunately, but instead a character named Cassandra, who's described as "a diva" and the temperamental dental hygienist wife of the best friend of the male half of the couple. Her husband will...
