Not the Whole Story

Warning: Spoilers
The unfortunate issue with this episode of History's Greatest Mysteries is the very conspicuous absence of the Patterson Film Hoax confessions. In fact, one pundit on the show goes so far as to explain that no one has ever proven or disproven the veracity of the Patterson Bigfoot footage. This is all the more bewildering given that the episode points out that the original Bigfoot footprint discoveries were determined to be a hoax based on the confessions and evidence of the hoaxer's relative. Regardless of belief or disbelief in the existence of a Bigfoot creature, the fact is people directly involved in the production of the Patterson film footage confessed to it being an utter fabrication, including the individual who wore the creature costume. The confessions are documented and easily available to the public. Moreover, I remember the mainstream news reports of the confessions when they came out back in the early 2000's. So, why would History's Greatest Mysteries fail to point this out? Whether a genuine mistake or a purposeful omission, the missing info calls to question the professionalism of those who write, direct and produce the show. And, it's just plain bad form.
