I'm glad games like Pac-Man 256 are being made. It's really interesting to me that the mobile game market paved the way for a revival of simple arcade games, which had been somewhat of a niche thing for many years. Score attack games have made a huge comeback too, which is even more surprising to me. Pac Man 256 is available on most major platforms, including consoles, but it's a mobile game at heart. I'm going to be reviewing this game and also offer some tips to help you get higher scores.

Through the year of 1990, Valiant Comics issued a brief run of comics based on the Legend of Zelda. I owned a few of these as a kid, and I remember finding them weird but enjoyable. A child fan of the Zelda games at this time would ravenously eat up any kind of adaptation that was handed to them, even if the quality wasn't great. I was one of them. I remember having issues with the plots, the way the characters were handled and the way things were drawn. But when you're young, you sometimes just figure that it's either your fault for not comprehending the story because you're not reading at a high enough level, or that the burning questions would get answered in later issues. Now that I've read them again as an adult, I think I have a pretty clear picture of what's going on with them.

How good does a game have to be to be worth more than $1000?

Of all the art forms, animation seems to be the one affected by economics the most. Film is another big one for sure, but animation is such an incredibly manual, labor-intensive process that there's a giant disconnect between creative vision and what can actually be reasonably produced, and what can reasonably make money. Since animators are painstakingly creating moving pictures frame by frame, simple creative decisions can multiply into hours, months or even years of extra work. Concessions always have to be made, and the work doesn't always pay off.

Last year, a new NES game came out. For real.
