Short graduation film by students of the Netherlands Film Academy about hidden poverty. Indy (9) lives with her father Dennis and lives in poverty. She is ashamed of the financial situation at her home and tries to keep it hidden from her friends at all costs. When she is told by her father a few days before her tenth birthday that there is no money for a school treat either, her secret threatens to come out. Not being the only one in her class who can't have a treat, she decides to arrange one herself. Gathering money, however, proves more difficult than expected. She empties her piggy bank, collects deposit bottles, but never gets beyond a few euros. As her birthday approaches, Indy's despair increases. As an extreme attempt, she finally decides to steal money from a locker when she goes swimming with her friends. For a moment, all seems well, when her friends and classmates are impressed by her treat and she accomplishes her goal with it. But it soon becomes apparent that she did not steal unseen.
