This mini-series, Naked Castaway, is excellent. Far and away the best survival show I've seen yet. I'm a Naked and Afraid fan, but this is light years ahead of that. For one, he is really completely alone. There is no camera crew or anything, he films himself. He comes with no tools, just some emergency items that cannot be used unless in a life-threatening emergency. He does end up taking antibiotics twice and one of those times a person comes to check him out due to extreme abdominal pain, but just gives him the antibiotics and leaves. So, if that will bother you, then you might not like this show. It's three episodes long and shows 60 days on an uninhabited island. The only tools he has are what he can make and any litter washed in from the ocean. He really speaks about things you don't normally hear about like the loneliness and mental challenges of being constantly alone and having only yourself to depend on. I highly recommend it!

Great show, what reality TV should be, not sure how people can hate it.

Naked castaway is a great mini-series! It captures raw human emotion, along with the hardships of island survival. The first(only?) three episodes of this show are better than anything I've seen on a survival type show since some of the gems from Man vs. Wild. Many of the people who rated this show so harshly were women, and since I can't speak for them I can just advise you to be your own judge. It may not be as real or riveting as Keeping Up with the Kardashians, but Naked Castaway is good in different ways I guess. I also read a lot of criticisms about the convenience of some things: washed up bottles, the existence of goats on the island, Go-Pro batteries, etc. Most of this is explained. If the idea of surviving 60 days on an uninhabited island is invalidated by the castaway taking antibiotics a few times then this show isn't for you. He even calls a medical staff in once for severe stomach pains, presumably to ensure he wasn't going to die. They give him some pills and leave. This show is raw and real, and to be honest, I doubt any of it's harsh critics have watched it from the beginning.
