An Average Season 18 Episode, A Below Average Season 35 Episode

Warning: Spoilers
McMansion & Wife is an okay episode. There have been seven episodes in this series. One episode was bad, one episode was okay, and 6 episodes were pretty good. This was the okay episode. If McMansion & Wife was made 17 years ago in season 18 then it would be an average episode. Unfortunately for this episode, were in Season 35, the Simpsons have become good again and an okay episode isn't considered average. In this episode there is a couch gag ( kinda). Unlike the other couch gags, this "couch gag" has a lot to do with the episode. A lot of people really like that, I'm okay with it. One really annoying thing is in the B-plot Lisa cyber bullied Nelson to get him back. I think that is mean and Lisa would never do that. That completely destroys Lisa's persona and that is why I give this an okay rating. In all, I give this a 6.6 out of 10.

Very good and memorable.

I didn't expect one of the first episodes of the new season to really stick with me. But here I am, and I am very happy with this episode. The animators did an amazing job here. It is like the one episode where the former president moves nearby, but with a twist. The B-plot is good however It did feel a little bit out of place. But I loved the revenge that was done against Nelson in it, however. The ending segment about the future of the house and it becoming a museum though I was not a fan of, and it's another one of those ending segments that feels like filler, which unfortunately happens a lot nowadays. It is a very good episode though and if you are not sure if you like modern Simpsons or not this is a good episode to try.

Why?

The previous episode showed some creativity and some heart.

This episode I'm struggling to think of anything unique, any particular splash of cleverness, or any satirical insight... Big houses? Bullying? All seems very tired.

Homer gets conned by a new neighbour. Yawn.

Bart gets bullied by Nelson. Yawn.

Plus, I found a lot of the episode moved at a painfully slow speed. The couch gag was silly, but not in a good way.

Lisa apparently has film of Nelson, no idea who filmed it.

To be honest, really struggling to come up with the 600 characters, and given I'm the first to review, imagine others did also.
