Not even Serling can make this engaging
CobraMist28 July 2020
This is a rather slow moving biopic about the well known guru, Sathya Sai Baba whose only saving grace is Rod Serling's narration. The film chronicles his life as well as his rise to fame before spending the rest of its runtime pontificating on how great the guru is. Examples such as miracles, manifestations, and testimonies of the converted are offered.

As with any fringe doc from the 70's (this is definitely a production from the 1970's by the way, Serling died in 1975 so this was not made in 2006), only a nod is given to any sort of criticism or scientific analysis of the supernatural proceedings. Sadly there is also a lack of fun theories or stories. The stories are all quite generic with the one exception being the manifestation of an ambrosia like substance by the guru.

Unless you are wanting to see what a believer in the 1970's thought of Sathya Sai Baba I would suggest that you skip this one.
