Every sound in Bottled Up is entirely fabricated. From breathing, footsteps and clothing to the river, wishes and robot, not one sound was recorded on set.
During shooting, the temperature was 43 °F at night. The actors threw on coats in between takes. A few degrees colder and their breath would have been detected by the cameras.
The Bottle Chute in the film was made from a lateral file cabinet. The cabinets back side became the chutes front side. The lever, smoke vent and recycling cavity were installed and the entire "machine" was sprayed with instant rust.
