In the first two cases, I was still a little doubtful if the people appearing were real people or just minor actors playing a part.
I had less doubts about The Oxford Exorcism. Back in the early 1990s, Heather and two of her friends were Theology students sharing a house. It was not only possessed but had a malevolent entity. It was more than just the tape deck playing Mozart.
Being theological students, they used the power of prayer and later called in an exorcist. Eventually the students left the house and drifted apart from Toddy, the one male student who lived with them.
Unusually the program started with Heather. The other female student wanted to have nothing to with the program, neither did the current owners of the house.
Heather had lost track of Toddy, all she knew that he had become a monk. Danny Robins had difficulty trying to find his online presence and finally managed to locate Toddy. He did join a monastery and later went to live abroad and became a therapist.
Danny managed to entice Toddy to get back to Britain and talk about his experiences.
Once again Dr Ciarán O'Keeffe leads Team Sceptic who talks about the power of hysteria and also infrasound which are sound waves with a frequency below the lower limit of human audibility.
Leading Team Believer, parapsychologist Evelyn Hollow mentions how three separate people had similar experiences and they validate each other. Also Danny Robins found subsequent residents of that house that had similar chilling experiences.
Danny rounds off the by talking about the previous two cases at the end of the episode with viewer feedback.
It has been an interesting series. Danny does upsell it a bit with florid language. To me the real star of the show has been parapsychologist Dr Ciarán O'Keeffe. He has a plausible answer for every strange occurrence.
