A liitle dated music video, this one for Gal Costa's cover of Stevie Wonder's single "Lately" - here made as "Nada Mais" was one of those unusual videos
made for the special program "Fantástico", which usually had a short life with only one presentation. Luckily, it survived long enough to get new audiences
on video platforms such as YouTube.
I only got word of it after researching the late actor Marcelo Ibrahim, who sadly didn't left many projects to be seen. The clip is divided in two segments, one where Gal is all alone in her apartment and she performs the song, then it cuts to her and her boyfriend (Marcelo) attending a crowded party but his attention goes to another woman, as described in the song a friend of his, but we can sense and feel Gal's deep jealousy on him. Quite unsettling.
A quite manageable video, not so corny as similar from the period used to be. I enjoyed the art direction, an obvious set but pretty cool to look at.
The song is so-and-so, Wonder's original works better but in a sense we're talking apples and oranges since it's a version, not a translation, and Gal's memorable amazing voice works for such a version. It just didn't appeal to me as her classic songs. Fine video anyway. 6/10.
