Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • No actual violence, but a guard threatens the fairy tale creatures with beheading if they return to Duloc.
  • Farquaad gets eaten by the dragon. Not graphic in the slightest since this is a stage musical. Some steam goes up and he disappears.

Profanity

  • 1 use of crap and 3 uses of blows in "The Story of my Life."
  • One use of the slur "tr*nny" in a song.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Pinocchio mentions getting sick with Dutch Elm Disease in Tijuana.
  • Shrek can be seen with a Martini glass early in the film.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The initial appearance of the dragon may frighten young children.
  • Shrek roars at guards and at Donkey. This may scare children, though unlikely since the roar isn't particularly frightening or loud.
