Surreal Success
FilmFest657 January 2015
Persistence of Memory is a strange and interesting ride through the young adulthood of a man we know to one day become surrealist artist Salvador Dali.

What we have here is a story about a young man finding himself through his experiences with school, his relationships with friends and mentors, his motivation to be great and most of all through his romance with a woman named Gala.

But this is not a straight forward romance or biopic. The movie plays more like a series of vignettes crafted to explain where this young artist comes from, how he sees the world around him, what drives him to be great and what or whom inspires him.

While the script is above average, this movie's true strengths are it's strong performances and beautiful cinematography coupled with interesting subject matter and a creative format.

Enjoyable and different, this is a cool art house flick boasting wonderful performances and creative storytelling.
