A Show to Binge-Watch when You Have Nothing to Do
hindisti26 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
SPOILER ALERT!

This show starts off with a little bit of cringe (in my opinion). But as the episodes go, you'll learn the characters' development, especially Asmara.

There are definitely some plot-holes. Like how T's parents suddenly being all fine and lovey dovey at the end, even though they're literally on their conflict's peak before it. Am I missing something on their relationship?

The senior actors on this series are killin' it! They really make their characters alive. Especially Akhtar Begum. Her anger issues scare me.

Overall, this is good enough if you want to spent your time by watching a light series. Dil Dekhe Dekho! <3.

"Dil Dosti Dilemma" is a charming addition. The show's fresh cast brings a vibrant energy to the screen, making the story both engaging and a whole lot of fun. While it may not be the most groundbreaking series, its lighthearted approach makes it a perfect choice for a leisurely binge-watch.

The plot offers plenty of twists and turns to keep viewers hooked, and the relatable characters add a layer of depth. With a winning combination of humor, friendship, and a touch of romance, "Dil Dosti Dilemma" delivers a delightful viewing experience. If you're looking for a show that's easy to enjoy and guaranteed to leave you smiling, this one is worth checking out.

6/10 for the cringe.
rishirusiayolo25 April 2024
They have done some good stuff in this show, no denial. But the writing is so cringy, the characters so caricature-ish, and the depth show shallow that you just can't take it seriously.

This is one of those classic TVF style shows that are in trend which are a result of Flames and Immature being successful. Very low stakes, very lazy writing, no character depth at all.

If you're craving a Crushed/Immature style immature show with tryhard comedy this might be for you. But if you want to watch something that is actually meaningful, and is not based on the TVF success pattern of creating low stakes happy shows, this is not for you.

Dil Dosti Dilemma...a sweet feel good entertainer
tinavohratv24 May 2024
" Dil Dosti Dilemma" streaming on Prime Video is a series depicting the disconnect between the older generation and the Gen Z... and how it is bridged once the youngsters realise that they can make a difference by playing an active role, rather than remaining apathetic and indifferent...has all the ingredients for a heartwarming tale of friendship and camaraderie and about the culture and traditions... it's directed by Debbie Rao and based on Andaleeb Wajid's YA novel, "Asmara's Summer"... this Series is set in Bengaluru...we get to see glimpses of it... Anushak Sen as Asmara is a delight to watch...a natural and blends into being Asmara with absolute ease...she holds her ground firmly even in the scenes with the more experienced Tanvi Azmi.... Shishir Sharma is absolutely adorable as Naanu...absolutely natural...and so is Tanvi Azmi, she looks so graceful... special mention must be made of the few romantic scenes between Tanvi and Shishir ...sooo cute... Kush Jotwani, as Farzaan, has a good presence and is charming as the young man whose life takes a different turn after the entry of Asmara...they make a cute couple... Vishakha Pandey playing Rukhsana is a treat to the eye too ...Suhasini Mulay as the grumpy grandmother Akhtar Begum is brilliant...Asmara's 2 friends Tania (Elisha Mayor) and Naina (Revathi Pillai) are good in their respective roles too... This Series doesn't want you to rack your brains in over the top drama, but instead has you laughing, having fun, crying and falling in love with your family in the simplest and yet complicated ways... plus the characterisation of the 3 friends and how Debbie Rao explores the complexities of teenage friendship, is perfectly displayed... Overall it's a low-cal, feel-good entertainer that gradually draws you in, just the way Asmara is drawn into Tibri Road...and leaves you dangling in anticipation for the next season...

Indian version of never have I ever
haardshah3 May 2024
It was quite good to watch it but slowly you'll feel you are watching the Never have I ever only. Anushka sen as Devi Vishwakumar having strong connection with dad and less strong with mom, Naina as elenor little bit chubby types and have parents working in fashion/drama. Taniya as Margot even looks the same as her , has parents issues , Armaan as paxton and having 2 cheeks around everytime.

Good points - Storyline is good , acting of naani, Nana and farzan was awesome, can be connected with today's GenZ and can be a great learning for them.

Bad points - too much similarity, last episode is boring, little bit overacting

Overall one time watch.

Must watch
abhinayakrishna27 April 2024
I loved it. I was a bit hesitant to watch it in the beginning but after 20 mins I binge watched it. I loved all the characters and was it Tibri world. Great work entire cast and crew. Bond between Asmara and Ruru is amazing. Totally enjoyed their signature step. Nana and Nani are lovable. Everyone wish they have similar Nana and Nani. This series also tells us about the value of people over the money. Songs are also very touchy and enjoyed the comedy. I would recommend this series to my entire family and friends. It's worth watching with entire family. This could be a great line for the film even.

Dil dosti dilemma
shishirsharma-0681728 April 2024
Nice serial......saw 2 episodes only......grandson wants to watch something else......giving it a break.

Somebody has done a good job of researching the lifestyle in the separate environments and the delinquencies of the immature children grown up to fake living standards.

The story until now is a fact of life and not just a figment of imagination. The reality isn't weird as sanskara and samskara only can bring the children onto the ground level.....sending her to her Naanis house is a correct resolution.

Humorous and keeps one glued to the TV. Your acting as the typical retired husband of the house is also an eye opener for all house holds.

The script is nice and natural, obviously, meant more for the present generation on values of relationships.

Disappointing Dilemma: A Review of "Dil Dosti Dilemma"
itsmenobody25 April 2024
"Dil Dosti Dilemma" falls painfully short of its promise, delivering a cringe-worthy viewing experience that leaves much to be desired. From its uninspired plot to its lackluster performances, this series struggles to find its footing in the realm of entertainment.

One of the most glaring issues with "Dil Dosti Dilemma" lies in its storyline, which feels derivative and predictable. The narrative fails to offer any originality or depth, opting instead for tired tropes and clichéd scenarios that do little to engage the audience. As a result, the plot feels stagnant and uninspiring, making it difficult to invest in the characters or their struggles.

Compounding the series' problems are the performances of its actors, which range from wooden to outright cringeworthy. Despite their best efforts, the cast members seem unable to breathe life into their roles, leaving the viewer with little reason to care about their fates. Dialogue delivery is stilted, emotions feel forced, and chemistry between characters is virtually nonexistent, further detracting from the overall viewing experience.

In the end, "Dil Dosti Dilemma" fails to deliver on its potential, offering little in the way of entertainment value. While it may hold some appeal for die-hard fans of the genre, most viewers are likely to find themselves disappointed by its lack of substance and quality. For those seeking engaging storytelling and compelling performances, it's best to look elsewhere.

A Fun Teen Comedy Show of this Generation
fashionforwardff25 April 2024
This show is a very fun and easy breeze to sit through and watch in one sitting. Having read the book Asmara's Summer by which it has been adapted recently, this show fleshes out those characters in they way that they deserved.

The comedy was fun and my whole family sat through it and watched it together.

The young cast shows off that they can stand against the veteran actors during the drama sequences of the show.

The music that has been composed for this show stands out and delivers when it is needed and the songs are some of the best recent original Hindi songs I have heard in a long time.

Disrespectful!
rayaanpasha25 April 2024
The portrayal of Tibri Road, where the biker-car incident occurred in the series, was unsettling. People live there, and it's unfair to portray it negatively. Despite being fictional, such representations can impact viewers' perceptions. It's important to be mindful of the communities depicted, even in a fictional series. It's inappropriate to depict it in a derogatory manner. Some residents were actually looking forward to seeing their neighborhood, but the way it was depicted was disappointing and disrespectful. Such portrayal should not have been done, as it can affect people's perception of the area and cause distress among the residents.

Absolutely heartwarming n abv all emotions depicted with so much grace n a series one can watch with family unlike so many where content is weak n flesh is high. Kudos to the team. Shishir, you are such a great actor..

What a colourful & energetic 7 episodes. It's felt like I got to hang out with everyone at tibbri road myself. Everyone was so natural & warm and it made me want to not stop watching!

Well I'm hooked and need to know who's the girl in the white kurta at the end ! Looking forward to seeing many many more seasons ! 🙌🏼

Watched DDD .Brilliant, though we didn't like the sad ending. You were outstanding, as usual. The girl is also very good. Very well made.

thoroughly enjoyable. fresh content
arup-6642730 April 2024
1. Contemporary, relatable storyline 2. The screen adaptation, I'm sure has been made to look more 2024 than 2016; and it has worked.

3. There is a sense of snobbiness in the main characters but at the same time a lot of refreshing innocence, making them even more likable 4. The dialog delivery, the acting is more natural than stage acting influenced exaggeration.

5. It's feel good but not so idealistic that it's almost impractical.

6. The class struggle, especially between the people who are entitled and the world they were not a part of and too embarrassed to acknowledge being connected to, is all too real in any society where the class divide is massive, especially in the contempary India. It's very relatable.

7. The acting by senior actors like Tanvi Azmi and Shishir Sharma is a delight but the younger ones brought a refreshing combination of maturity and innocence that was magical.

8. The dialogs in Urdu but not so chaste that it's impossible for a normal Hindi speaker to understand was mellifluous while being practical.

Amazon is losing the web series touch
dabasonline25 April 2024
Just would say don't waste your weekend hours on it.

Better watch election strategies and the comedy of errors happening on News channels these days, it's much better.

Waiting from long now Amazon seriously is wasting Indian talent, why can't they bring back the actors who have proved and brought them fame via India, in new web series. They seem to have entered the same bollywood mafia culture to give work to approved network of relatives only :)

Look at Netflix, their webseries give the feel of commercial movies these days, introducing Turkish Cinema to Indians is an amazing strategy they have picked.

Awesome series - brilliant episodes 6 &7
vshari-1355625 April 2024
Can I just say I just finished finished watching the whole thing in a stretch. Episodes 6 and 7 are one the best episodes I have seen in any Indian OTT series. So real, not clichéd, not over the top - backed by an awesome story, script, acting, direction, cinematography and production values. They are so well done and not done in a predictable clingy manner. In fact I thought episode 6 was so great I was worried episode 7 will fall to.same formulaic ending .... but.man did it hold up. If fact if there are award shows for TV series ... these are the episodes which should be sent. So Many real and relatable reasons to watch - characters whose performances stay with you. The dilemmas faced by Young Adults is also well captured.

Highlight is the background score.
ark-6365423 May 2024
Subpar storyline completely filled with clichéd moments.

The series supposedly takes place in bengaluru but it seems like more of a fantasised city in MP along with a few famous imagery of bengaluru thrown in with a couple of kannada words and phrases inserted into scenes mostly where it had no appropriate meaning.

The highlight of the series is the amazing background score by Sid Paul and aesthetically pleasing cinematography.

The acting performance by the artists is good but acting out clichéd scenes make the artists seem like they are overexpressing themselves.

Overall, it is a little cringy watchable series, with only the background score and cinematography earning my 5 starts.

An Excellent Watch !
contactshambhavee1 May 2024
Am an ardent fan of the craft Shishir puts up. The recent watch was a beautiful delight. Honestly, time flew by. There was not even a moment ,I felt like getting up or picking up my phone to scroll. Complete entertainer. Sat at 10 pm n when I looked up next, it was 1 in the morning. Great story line, fresh faces. Apart from Shishir loved the character and screen presence of Asmara ... cute n confident. Everyone has done a great job!

The story beautifully shows the need to balance the modern life, with the roots and that is depicted very beautifully.

Tanviji,an ace actor just like Shishir has done justice to the role. It was a complete delight.

Cringe and creepy Dilemma!
ankitguptajsp22 May 2024
It started good, as the story goes on it became cringy. The cast was new n fresh but there in nothing fresh when it comes to the script. Seems like old 90s story. Just a rich girl coming to a poor place, and there is ladka in pados jisse wo aate samay takra jati hai and she eventually fall in love with that boy. Started changing the situation of that poor society there. With no touch of reality. Very Disappointing.

I like the awesome threesome thing. I like when it started with thier friendship n all. Problems in all thier life's. But later on the story just focusses on one love story n tibri road. There is no dosti later on, no real dilemma, only cringy and creepy Dil was there!

I like the cast but story could have been better!

A breezy feel good refreshing series
kpuri-398901 May 2024
Really enjoyed the series with great acting by Shishir sharma and the rest of the lead cast. It keeps the viewers hooked and is very engaging. A must watch for the youth of today. It has a lesson for everyone. The Story telling is good and refreshing.

Asmara's summer takes an unexpected turn when she is sent to her grandparents' traditional neighbourhood as punishment. She pretends to be in Canada to keep up appearances with her friends. It is a story about how disconnected we are with the world and hooked onto the social media all the time. Dont know what we are leaving for the future generations.

A contemporary story in true sense
ajantasinha-898612 June 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Asmara (Anushka Sen), a teenager, had planned a trip to Canada with her family. But due to unforeseen circumstances, she is forced to spend her time at her grandparents' old house on Tibbery Road in Bangalore. To Asmara, this house feels 'down market and tacky'. Asmara and her two friends, Naina (Revathi Pillai) and Tanya (Elisha Mayor), are modern, fashion-conscious girls from affluent families. They call themselves the 'Awesome Threesome'.

'Dil Dosti Dilemma' is a web series centred around the life of Asmara. The series revolves around Asmara and explores the dynamics of various families, their environments, situations, and relationships. The reason why Asmara was sent to her grandparents' house is revealed in the first episode of 'Dil Dosti Dilemma', the conflict starts from here. Though I am not disclosing it now. As because, viewers may lose interest. Let people watch this on their own.

This contemporary web series has already started streaming on Prime Video and has resonated with the audience. Many middle-class Indian families have teenagers like Asmara, who struggle to get along with their parents, making this series particularly relevant to them. We cannot simply call this a generation gap ! There could be a debate on that. It is also true that the fault doesn't entirely lie with the new generation! However, there is no disagreement that the problem is becoming more intense. In this series, the issue is rather subtle. It isn't even the eternal struggle between the upper and lower classes. Against this backdrop, director Debbie Rao has beautifully woven a story of deep human realisation.

In 'Dil Dosti Dilemma,' we see the remarkable transformation of a young girl's mind as she reaches different conclusions in entirely opposite environments. Despite being exiled to her grandfather's house, Asmara tries to hatch various schemes according to her own whims. She tries to present a false picture to her dear friends Naina and Tanya, as if Asmara is still in Canada. This is how she plans to keep herself happy. But since there is no Wi-Fi connection at her grandfather's house, it is not easily possible. She is forced to choose the neighbouring siblings, Rukhsana (Vishakha Pandey) and Farzan (Kush Jetwani), for company. Alongside this, we meet Suhail (Hrithik Ghansani), with whom Rukhsana is in a romantic relationship.

How all this interaction influences Asmara, how their company changes this young girl - you have to watch the series till the end to see these amazing twists in the story. In a series where the storyline is crucial, the writing is handled by Anuradha Tiwari, Bugs Bhargava Krishna, Raghav Dutt and Manjiri Vijay. They have created the backbone of the series. Based on Andaleeb Wajid novel 'Asmara's Summer', this series portrays the interactions of three generations, which will feel very familiar to you.

The exchanges are depicted through smart, concise yet profound dialogues in each episode. Themes like family bonds, social and cultural traditions, and the self-realisation of a young girl are beautifully brought to life by the actors. I have already mentioned the names of the new generation. Each actor fits their role perfectly, delivering smart, natural, and effortless performances. Additionally, those who make this seven-episode series truly enjoyable include Shishir Sharma (Asmara's grandfather) and Tanvi Azmi (Asmara's grandmother). Both are outstanding individually, and their on-screen chemistry is noteworthy. Other actors who impress with their precise character portrayals include Suhasini Mulay, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Mahesh Thakur, Arjun Berry, Shruti Seth, Khalid Siddiqui, Parineeta Seth, Delnaaz Irani, Samvedna Suwalka, Kanan Gill and many more.
