1963 is a long time ago

I was about six years old, when I saw this film. I can't remember, if I saw it one time or more than one time. I did read, that the German version was on TV one week before Christmas 1963 and the second part one week after Christmas, so in 1964. That's a little bit funny, because I have the feeling that I saw more than two times this film. Maybe the film had eight parts? I surely remember that I loved to see this film very very much. As a young boy I was really fallen in love with "Ali"! And I wanted to know what happens in and with his dangerous life. And also I loved his speaking camel - his very dear friend! I know that all turned good at the end. By the way: when I saw this pretty film my brother must have been about seven months ( or one year and seven months...) old and he gave me the nickname "Ali" and never used my real name when he talked to me. And nearly the whole family did use this nickname too... by now. That's 50 years ago today. An uncle who also was named Ernst, he called "Uncle Al". I would so likely see this film once more, or see some pictures, because it was a very heartwarming experience for me.
