With this episode, things calm down, if only slightly, so that Project Lyda, as well as what the Prolethians are up to, can be spoke on more. With that, Allison gets a smaller role, which honestly I don't mind since she is the least interesting clone; and Cosima sits on the bench a little bit as well. But with Mrs. S finding an old flame, more screen time for Helena, and Sara, as always, finding herself approaching a potential s--- storm, though things clam down slightly, by the end of the episode you can see potential drama on the horizon.
Topic 1: Rehab - Allison
After her relapse with drinking, Allison is stuck in rehab. Which she planned to bust out of with Felix after a week, but with Donny threatening to take her kids, she is stuck in the program.
Topic 2: Off At the Farm - Helena
While Art stands off the property taking pictures, everyone seems to be talking about Helena and seemingly Gracie isn't alone in not liking Helena's presence. However, Henrik, or Henry, is still very invested in Helena being there, especially after they prep her for artificially insemination. But, after Gracie tries to kill Helena, she gets knocked out and Helena escapes. Passing Art on the way.
Topic 3: What Do You Know About Project Lyda? – Sara, Cosima and Helena
With Sara just getting into a car accident, which was caused by Cal, for some odd reason, she strangely seems unaffected as Daniel seems dead. But, with only an apology for hitting the car, seemingly done as a way to save her, they are off to go into hiding since Cal isn't ready to lose Sara, nor disconnect with his possible daughter. However, before leaving Daniel to die, Sara takes his phone, and the Project Lyda picture, to make sure she can not only further research things, but keep Rachel off her tail.
But, to explore this Project Lyda thing requires going back and getting in contact with Cosima. Who, thankfully, explains the meaning behind Lyda which deals with Zeus having sex with a queen who had twins, assumingly referring to Helena and Sara, and this is just the tip of the iceberg for we find out that the two in the picture are Rachel's adopted parents. Their names are Susan and Ethan Duncan and seemingly they provided Rachel quite the happy childhood, despite being military sponsored geneticists.
As for future references to Project Lyda, seemingly Cosima is to take lead on that one giving Sara time to investigate Mrs. S who is looking for an old friend. Said old friend is Carlton, seemingly a former love interest and a human smuggler who 20 years ago brought Sara to Mrs. S's door. The two have a friendly chat, make out a little, and catch up on old topics. Mrs. S' main focus, however, is finding out more than Sara does, since she formerly was quite oblivious as to what Sara was, and seemingly she is very wary of Sara uncovering more information. Unfortunately for her though, Carlton didn't ask a whole lot of questions, so he can't provide her with much more than a ride.
Going back to Sara, since she has Daniel's phone, she decides to infiltrate's Rachel's suite and that is when/where she gains the information about Rachel's family life, and finds out her and Daniel may have more than a professional relationship. And while she doesn't get as much information as she got out of going through Mrs. S' ransacked house, which led her to getting the Ethan and Susan Duncan information, she does find out that Daniel is one resilient bastard, and that he more so answers to Leekie than Rachel, in fact he maybe Rachel's monitor.
This, at first, seems like information Sara is meant to die with for though she could trick Rachel's assistant Troy, Daniel isn't as easily fooled, and while he can't kill her, harming her is an option. His focus seems to be extracting information out of her about Project Lyda, which is weird since Rachel is the kid of the two scientist working on the project. But, after a small incision behind the ear, the doorbell rings. Can you guess who it is? Well, it is Helena who has come to save her sister after following her since Sara being at Mrs. S's. And despite the gun shot, Helena seems quite happy to see her sister and the two weep together. Not in a happy to see you kind of way, but their relationship isn't ideal so of course Helena weeps for what was done to her and Sara weeps because Helena is alive and off putting.
Still, one could hope the two of them could reconcile and Helena's oddness could be featured more often. Especially since she is on the run and Henrik and the Prolethians seemingly have taken one of her eggs to make a baby. Making it seem that Kira may have a little cousin in the future.
