The winning film is remarkable for its ability to move audiences and portray, with great effectiveness and sentiment, the problem of emigration from the point of view of the people involved. For its original way of treating history, with excellent use of collage and mixed techniques; for the feeling of closeness and empathy that the family creates in viewers as it tells its story, and of course the fantastic role played by the director's little girl. With all of these ingredients the film manages to create a sense of hope and to explore without exaggerated harshness what is certainly a very dramatic topic.
