- With Colonel Glenn Talbot now on their trail, Coulson and his team seek refuge in the last place anyone would look, where they begin to uncover S.H.I.E.L.D.'S most dangerous secrets -- secrets that could destroy them all.
- Grant Ward frees Raina from her confinement, giving her a new flower dress. He brings Raina to a barber shop and introduces John Garrett to her as the Clairvoyant. Garrett then takes her to their base.
Meanwhile, Phil Coulson and Skye witness S.H.I.E.L.D. being named a terrorist organization after the HYDRA Uprising. Leo Fitz, Jemma Simmons, and Antoine Triplett work together to fix the Bus. Colonel Glenn Talbot contacts Phil Coulson and informs him that a military team is en route to the Hub. Not trusting Talbot, Coulson leaves with the team, but is reluctant to include Triplett because of his past with Garrett. Nevertheless, he agrees at the condition that he is Simmons responsibility. He orders Skye to erase the identities of all the team members, including Ward, who he does not know is HYDRA. Skye calls Ward to tell him he doesn't exist anymore and jokingly asks what name he wants to choose. He asks her where the team is heading which she replies saying she doesn't know.
After the call, Ward and Garrett argue about his decision to order the shooting of Skye. Despite her initial disappointment that Garrett is not an actual clairvoyant, Garrett tasks Raina with conducting research on the Guest House drugs for Centipede Project, which is secretly backed by HYDRA. Garrett and Ward leave base to raid the fridge.
Skye gathers up everyone's S.H.I.E.L.D. badges, Coulson turns his in but realizes his badge is lighting up with numbers that look like coordinates. He believes that it is Nick Fury sending the message despite his death. They go to the coordinates to find a snowy tundra. After a very long walk they approach the coordinates to find nothing but more snow. Coulson throws his badge out of anger, but it gets shot out by a hidden gun. A door opens leading them into the secret S.H.I.E.L.D. base, Providence. They meet Eric Koenig who has been running the base alone since 2012. Coulson learns from Koenig that Nick Fury is alive after all, but he is told to keep the information secret. Coulson also learns from Melinda May that Fury did not oversee the T.A.H.I.T.I. project and there isn't a way to know who was responsible for it.
Elsewhere, Ward and Garrett infiltrate the Fridge, freeing its prisoners and stealing weapons including the Berserker Staff and the 0-8-4 from Peru. Among the prisoners is Marcus Daniels who Garrett tells to follow his dreams. Ward, remembering what Coulson told him about the location of the Gravitonium, blows a hole in the bottom floor of the base, revealing the silver liquid. Back at the HYDRA base, Raina informs Garrett that the hard drive containing all of Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons' research is locked with a password only Skye knows, prompting Garrett to send Ward to Providence to obtain it, but not before he punched Ward several times in the face in order for him to look believably hurt.
Later, Ian Quinn, who is angry at Garrett for his lies, is brought to the HYDRA base. He tells Garrett he will never work for him again, but Garret gives him the Gravitonium, which had been retrieved from the Fridge. Quinn then agrees to work with him once again.
