The film is dedicated to the Woodland Smokehouse and Commissary: the location in which it was shot. 20 days after principal photography had wrapped, the building was destroyed in a fire, though no one was hurt or killed.
Shooting took place from 6PM to 6AM for three consecutive nights. This was necessitated by the dense number of shots required, and the fact that no kitchen would shut down during daytime hours.
The Woodland Smokehouse and Commissary (the location where the film was shot), was not an operating restaurant. It was a facility that rented out cooking space to catering companies and food trucks, and also housed a non-profit gym for boxers upstairs. Since there was no dining room, a number of written scenes were cut from the finished film.
Much of the cast had worked in or were currently working in restaurants when the film was being shot.
