The movie that plays on T.V. when Alex (Sandra Foisy) turns it on is director Philippe Bourret's previous short film ''Mulla Xul''. It is still playing later when Véro turns the T.V. off, even though the action is taking place a good while later and it is only a six-minute short.
In the opening scene when Alex (Sandra Foisy) enters the apartment, she is humming the ''First Night theme'' from the score by ARCHangel. This theme can be heard twice during the film and over the end credits.
The line ''Moses, get your ass over here!'' yelled out off-screen by J.P. just before Moses bursts into the bathroom is an homage to a line yelled out by Kurt Russell in John Carpenter's ''The Thing''. There was another homage to ''The Thing'' in Philippe Bourret's previous short ''Mulla Xul'' when Robert Verret's character says ''Holy shit'' when seeing tentacles under a door frame.
The first two lines of the song playing in the restaurant after J.P. and Moses make their entrance are ''You're going down. This is your last stand'', foreshadowing the fate awaiting Jodie and the employee.
The girls' under wear are blue (Alex) and red (Véro), referencing the trademark red and blue lights of a police car.
