Though charming in it's execution and certainly original, I'm Scared is very odd little short film.
Looking and sounding much like films like Frankenweenie (2012) it looks like part but may not appeal to the younger audience due to it's dark and foreboding content. On the flip side it simply doesn't have enough substance to be enjoyed by the older viewer, therefore it's left in limbo in a nearly cinematic purgatory where it has no real identity.
I'm not saying I'm Scared is bad, it's visually impressive and a fine example of what can still be done with stop motion. The trouble is that there are a lot of short animations out there, and this ones identity among them is all style no substance.
