A clip from this movie appears in the movie "The Mummy's Kiss".
The serial could not have been made without the generous help of one of Don Glut's mentors, Bob Burns.
Glut had written an actual script titled "Superman at the Earth's Core", which he had intended to shoot in California. But when he saw Bob Burn's incredible collection of movie props, that included the silver cane head from "The Wolf Man", a mask made by Jack Pierce for Lon Chaney, Jr. in "The Mummy's Curse", an alien head made by Paul Blaisdell for "Invasion Of The Saucer Men", the Blaisdell-made alien bat and 'radio' from "Not Of This Earth", a miniature house made by Mike Minor for the "Jeepers' Creepers" TV show, the costume from Republic Pictures' "Captain America" movie serial and much more; he suggested that a movie be made throwing in as many of these collectibles as possible.
Donald Glut doubled as the Phantom Avenger when Dick Andersen was not available.
The name in the credits Kirk Reeves is a name that Bob Burns also uses. It is mad up of the names of actors who had played Superman - Kirk Alyn Superman (1948) Atom Man vs. Superman (1950); and George Reeves Superman & The Mole Men (1951) and Adventures of Superman (1952-1958).
