Candy J. Beard (Screenwriter and Executive Producer) wrote her second song in 2014 and again asked Rachel Brett (who had teamed up with her for a song in Vanished) to write the music and record the song. "Momma" is the first song the viewers hear in the opening scene. It tells the story of a young girl, being abused by her alcoholic mother and wishing she could one day meet her father.
Cries Unheard was written by Candy J. Beard in January 2010. However, it was not produced until March of 2015. It was filmed in just six days over Taylor Moss' spring break.
Cries Unheard was Taylor Moss' acting debut as lead character, Karen.
Shawn I. Chevalier (who played Karen's abusive mother) absolutely fell in love with the script when she first read it and auditioned for the role. She says that she waited her entire life to play the character of Victoria.
The vintage car seen sitting at the home of Karen and the vintage car driven by the landlord, Mr. Ramsey were both provided by Taylor's uncle and grandfather.
