During the scene where Jimmy instructs the cleaner how to use the vacuum cleaner, he says "Backwards only", and then in pseudo Spanish: "Solo backwardo". Backwardo is a super hero designed by Jesse in Breaking Bad.
Actress Jennifer Hasty, who played Stacey (Kerry Condon)'s realtor in this episode was also the same realtor in the house that Marie (Betsy Brandt) stole from in season 4, episode 3 of Breaking Bad (2008) - Open House (2011)
The seven colourful shirts Jimmy (Bob Odenkirk) hangs into his wardrobe are almost "the colours of the rainbow", but one of the classic seven Newtonian rainbow colours is missing: instead of indigo, there is one in a lighter shade of violet. Jimmy obviously did not want to buy a shirt in "Hamlindigo Blue", the corporate colour of his arch-Nemesis Howard Hamlin (Patrick Fabian).
A the very beginning of the first scene of the episode, the July 1973 issue of Mad Magazine is shown, featuring the mascot Alfred E. Newman adjusting a TV set. Later in the episode, Jimmy is introduced to a client from Allied Funeral Homes named Al Newman.
Stephen Snedden, who plays the con man attempting to scam Jimmy's father at his store, was a main cast member in The Lone Gunmen (2001), another spin-off created by Vince Gilligan. Michael McKean also appeared in The Lone Gunmen in a recurring role.
