Great "Portmanteau" Series
catfish-er17 June 2021
I love the anthology or "portmanteau" productions of Amicus Films from the 1960s and 1970s, with Tales from the Crypt being the first I saw as a teenager; and, still my favorite. In the spirit of these films, comes The Hunter's Anthology.

The "wrap" story, which features 6 strangers on a New York City subway train with Mac, a mysterious man who claims to be a demon hunter, is weak; but, not bad. The insights into each of the passengers, however, is excellent, as he peeks into their souls discovering eerie, supernatural tales.

This first one, which examines Tabitha as she desperately seeks help from Madame Renee, a fortune teller who's never been wrong is surprisingly fun viewing.
