In this interview, originally recorded as a preview to the films screening at Horror Channel Frightfest 2017, host Stuart Wright talks to Fever (aka Mountain Fever) director Hendrik Faller
Fever is available on DVD now and on iTunes on 30th April. Check out the trailer below:
‘Fever’ (aka ‘Mountain Fever’), is an end of the world thriller about a man out of his depth. Inspired by the action cinema of James Cameron and the minimalism of Nicolas Winding Refn, and heavily influenced by apocalyptic fare like ‘The Walking Dead’ and ‘The Road’, ‘Fever’ follows Jack (Tom Miller), a hapless young Brit as he takes refuge from a deadly pandemic in a snowy Alpine village.
Ill-equipped to survive the harsh winter, things only get worse when renegade Kara (Anya Korzun) breaks into his house and commandeers his dwindling food supplies. His inept plan to get rid of her disintegrates when outsiders (Julien Caplan) also invade,...

Anya Korzun in Mountain Fever
If a deadly pandemic started killing people where you live and all around the world, what would you do? For many fans of survival films, the default plan is to escape to somewhere remote and try to wait it out. But remote places have their own dangers. Mountain Fever, the debut feature by Hendrik Faller, tells the story of Jack, whose retreat into the Alps reveals his distinct lack of survival skills. Fortunately, he meets a woman who knows exactly what she's doing. Less fortunately, she wants his house and his food.
"I've always been interested in end of the world scenarios and films about when the world changes and the way of life changes," says Hendrik. "I've always grown up around mountains and I love them, but they can be scary, especially the Swiss and French Alps. They can be very dangerous."
Living in Scotland,...

In his latest FrightFest 2017 interview, host Stuart Wright talks to director Hendrik Faller about his film Mountain Fever, which has its world premiere at the festival on Saturday 26th August.
Inspired by the action cinema of James Cameron and the minimalism of Nicolas Winding Refn, a fatal flu virus devastates Europe in an ice-cold thriller examining human behaviour in a time of crisis. City boy Jack takes refuge in the Alps but he’s ill-equipped to survive the harsh winter. Things only get worse when renegade Kara breaks into his house and commandeers his dwindling food supplies. His inept plan to get rid of her disintegrates when outsiders also invade, turning his captor into his only ally. As a siege ensues Jack must choose a side if he hopes to survive.
The Horror Channel Frightfest takes place August 24th – 28th 2017 at both the Empire Cinema and Prince Charles Cinema in London’s Leicester Square.
