Crevecoeur Hall and the Mortmaigne family feature in the Season 9 episode "The Dead of Winter (2010)." Sergeant Hathaway grew up there, where his father Phillip was the gardener. The elderly Philip Hathaway is introduced in that episode, suffering from dementia and unable to remember his son.

The "beast of Binsey" mentioned by Strange has a real life counterpart in the Oxfordshire area, where a puma is said to roam the woods. It's known as the "beast of Burford."
