... she landed right on the patio
ksf-216 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
So this chick Julia falls onto Alejandro's courtyard. Director Néstor Sotelo keeps making us jump with loud noises, which is kind of annoying. Even the opening theme music is more frantic than it needs to be. The ambulance shows up, and we're not quite sure why they don't take her to be examined.... maybe because Julia can't remember her ID number ?? that doesn't seem right. Also a running gag where the phones just ring and ring... another bit where no-one can remember which three digit number to call in any situation. Julia, played by Muriel SantaAna, will have to stay at Alejandro's place. Peto Menahem is "Alejandro". This seems to be the Argentine version of "The Man Who came to Dinner".... but its a woman. A LOT of talking, and a lot of fumbling about, so much slapstick type of comedy, which is usually overdone. Alejandro seems to be an actor, and for some reason they keep showing the actors arguing with the director. Painful. Was that to show us that Alejandro is already stressed out from work ? SO much bickering. and talking. and silliness. Had high hopes for this one, but it took a LONG time to get where it was going. Watch the Bette Davis, Monty Woolley version... so much better.

Boring movie

It was a boring movie for me. It is supposed to be a funny romantic movie but you dont´t laugh even once. Also talks about suicide people but not in the right way.

I learned how to make empanada
tomokoi4 September 2017
It was a nice story. Nowadays many movies just want to show the best looking actresses and actors, coolest things people have and sex and violence. This movie has nothing to do with them. They show how two average adults overcome difficult time and find joy and companionship. It is too normal, but we always want. This movie also showed Argentina culture. When Alejandro visited Julia, they had mate. Alejandro made empanada for himself, which I did not know. I am around their age, so I understand how lonely adults can be, how difficult to find a companionship is, and how difficult to make a living later in my adult life. Not super romantic story like La la land, but it was more realistic nice story.
