The Rayearth legend continues

Warning: Spoilers
When I was a kid, after watching the tragic conclusion of the first season of Magic Knight Rayearth, I genuinely thought the story was definitely over (Despite ending in such a sad note)

Much to my surprise (and joy) turned out the series wasn't over yet, following the aftermath of the previous adventure lived the main heroine trio: Back again on Earth, the three girls are unable to resume their ordinary lives, still having an intense guilt over having to kill Princess Emeraude, supposedly for the sake of the fantasy world Cephiro. Hikaru, in particular, starts to suffer some nightmares which seem to foreshadow the apparition of a new enemy.

This is the only episode from the series where the families of the three main characters appear. I kinda wish they have appeared more, since they seemed like fun, likeable characters.

This second season had a darker, more dramatic tone than the previous one. However, there were still many moments of humor and a hopeful message of optimism.

Even when the plot from the second season is at moments streched way too much, its overall quality is still pretty solid, with a very satisfying conclusion.

A pretty decent beginning for the second part of this epic fantasy by CLAMP.
