I saw this movie at the Van City Theatre a couple weeks ago and it really struck a chord with me. There are so many big epic movies with tons of explosions but the characters are bland and one-dimensional even a super nova explosion can't help those types of movies.
But yeah, this movie was super refreshing that way. It's a small scale setting that examines the relationships between a close group of friends in a truthful and honest way.
The acting is really spot on and the scenes come across as very natural, which I friggin' love. Nothing is super in your face or annoying, the filmmaker is chill and lets the story and characters breathe.
It's funny, heart-warming, dramatic...it's got all the flavors you want for this type of flick. I found the characters relatable and I was rooting for them to work their problems out.
Also, everyone is pretty damn attractive too, but not annoyingly attractive, which is a bonus. This one actor Dayleigh Nelson, he just has one scene, but he's so hot in it. Yummy. You'll know him when you see him, you'll be like, damn that handsome hunk. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some crazy rock and roll Hollywood stuff happening on that set with that handsome devil.
Anyway, I digress. Check it out, it's up on iTunes and Amazon now I think.
