Josip : I somehow get the impression that the more women have sex in movies, the less they have sex in real life.

Josip : I somehow get the impression that there are not that many movies nor novels that talk about philosophy anymore.
Andrea Kollar : Do you know why there are no more great works of art, like Vivaldi's opus or the Sistine Chapel? I noticed that today people only work and go home. And that's it. They don't have time anymore. We now have access to all the information on the web. But previously, artists were isolated and had some genuine emotions that were not influenced by anyone. They gained their inspiration from their eccentricity. Today, everything is reduced. Nothing must last longer than two hours.
Josip : ...You know, Andrea... I think we are on the same wavelength.
Andrea Kollar : Oh, I knew that a long time ago.

Josip : Secondly, I have the impression as if it does not contain his signature, as if he only wanted to write a hit-book. Thirdly, it does not fit into his opus at all...
Andrea Kollar : I have to interrupt you. Can I ask you something? You are too grown up. You need to be more childish, more innocent when it comes to art.
Josip : Do you think that is justified?
Andrea Kollar : People are more than just their work. Even Aristotle was more than just Aristotle.

Josip : Your standpoint is reminiscent of something I went through a couple of years ago. I fell into depression whereupon I arrived to similar conclusions as you did.
Andrea Kollar : That life isn't special?
Josip : Yes, because it is repeatable with enough time and with right ingridients, which was proven by experiments. But then I talked with a friend, Karlo, in a cafe one day. And the man simply says to me that, independent of everything, if there is no life, there is no beauty.
Andrea Kollar : Yes, that is true.
Josip : Let us take this mineral for example. No matter how beautiful it is, without us, it is worthless. We make other things beautiful, we give them value, they are not beautiful all by themselves. On Jupiter or on Mercury, there was never anything beautiful, or funny, or dramatic, nor will there be, because there is nobody there.
Andrea Kollar : And what about cats?
Josip : They are life as well.
Andrea Kollar : That is true. But if it's like that, then it does not apply to only minerals, but to everything, to the whole Universe. If there was no life, if there was nobody, it would be as if the whole Universe would not even exist, because nobody could notice it. Universe by itself does not know that it exists... So what are you trying to say?
Josip : Maybe the role of life is to give a meaning to the Universe.
