English version of "Lodowa Pani", adapted by
Anne Wood of the production company FilmFair, was shortened and re-edited to a ~5 minute episode titled "The Lady of the Cold". It was originally broadcast in the UK in 1983 (as episode 26) on Central Independent Television, as part of its "Watch It!" strand of children's programming. Missing from the UK version:
- Some opening shots of the snowy Moominvalley and the bathing hut, along with the first shot of the snow horse. First shot of Moomintroll adjusting the clock and the shot where he's looking out of the window.
- The sequence where Little My is sailing on the ice next to a bathing hut and is having a conversation with Too-Ticky (the last part of the scene is in the UK version). The shot where Moomintroll goes inside the hut.
- Shots of the invisible mouse playing a flute (after Too-Ticky takes the coffee cup) and Too-Ticky adding wood to the stove. The scene after Little My comes inside and closes the door, where Little My is warming herself next to a stove and talking about the invisible mouse with Too-Ticky.
- Several shots from the sequence involving the Lady of the Cold: Moomintroll looking out the window before the Lady of the Cold arrives (the first shot of the Lady is also shorter), Moomintroll running away from the window, the invisible mouse going to the cupboard with the flute, a close-up of a scared Little My, frost appearing on a window, Little My and Moomintroll watching from the window, the Lady of the Cold going away (her back turned), an unsuspecting squirrel looking for cones when the Lady of the Cold approaches, and a reaction shot from Moomintroll and Too-Ticky.
- Several shots from the sequence of the burial of the squirrel: Little My and the others next to a squirrel lying on the snow and Moomintroll crying, Little My picking reeds and placing them next to a squirrel, a tracking shot of the woods and the snow horse, Little My making a speech next to a snow horse and preparing the funeral, Moomintroll picking the squirrel up, shot of a snow horse wiggling its tail, snow horse going away with Moomintroll walking behind it (a bit later all of them are walking behind the horse), wide shot of the river bay, snow horse arriving to the icy shore, the shot of Too-Ticky and Little My leaving (after the horse has gone away), and the shot of Moomintroll leaving with the invisible mouse. Some shots of the bathing hut at the end are also missing.
- Notable soundtrack cue in the UK version by composers Steve Shill and Graeme Miller include the synthesizer based "the death/funeral theme" after the squirrel has died.
