English version of "Noc w zatoce", adapted by
Anne Wood of the production company FilmFair, was shortened and re-edited to a ~5 minute episode titled "Moomintroll to the Rescue". It was originally broadcast in the UK in 1983 (as episode 42) on "Children's ITV" (on Central Independent Television). Missing from the UK version:
- The original opening where, after the shots of the Moominvalley, Moominpappa watches the sunset and goes inside where the others are waiting; Sniff moving the light on the table, and the shot of Moominpappa when he begins reading his memoirs.
- The Joxter smoking his pipe and the Muddler organizing his button collection on the deck; Hodgkins looking from the wheelhouse; a wide shot of the deck with the Joxter and the Muddler; a shot of the confused Muddler after he has thrown the food away.
- A wider shot of the Joxter, the Muddler and the young Moominpappa after they hear the sound of the Groke, and a shot of the Muddler with the blanket; Hodgkins taking his spyglass and watching the lady Hemulen and the Groke through it, and a wide shot from the deck.
- A close-up of the young Moominpappa swimming in the water after rescuing the lady Hemulen, a shot of the Groke on the rocky shore, and others watching the scene from the boat.
- The sequence with the lady Hemulen on the deck (after getting out of the net), with her cleaning up the smeared jam (the last part of the scene where Hemulen is crouching is in the UK version).
- The sequence in the following morning, where Hemulen is waking up everyone with a megaphone, giving orders and pushing children to exercise.
- Wide shots of the boat (another with the Niblings); a shot from the deck where Hemulen is still giving orders while the Niblings arrive; a shot of Hemulen surrounded by the Niblings; Hodgkins behind the wheel; the Muddler peeking from his jar; the Joxter, Hodgkins and the Muddler watching how the Niblings take away the the lady Hemulen; a shot of the Muddler and the young Moominpappa.
- A close-up of Moominpappa when he reads his memoirs and a wider shot where the others are listening; the last shot of the Moominhouse when it gets dark.
