Vamizi is the largest island in the Quirimbas Archipelago on the east coast of Africa off Mozambique. It remains relatively untouched by man and teaming with wildlife. Deep sea drilling for the natural gas industry along with the fishing industry are approaching and threatening the fragile ecology.
The underwater footage is beautiful. There is no doubt about the vibrant liveliness of this paradise. This documentary gives the viewer a reason to root for it being saved. It could do more with the threats that surround it. It would be helpful to have a map of the extent of the Archipelago and the gas drilling that is encroaching it. The wildlife filming is terrific. It just needs more clarity with the issues facing this paradise.
