The reasoning for that there being a "Bust" is because 4+6=10, and "VI" in roman numerals is also 6, so 10+6=16, and plus another 6 equals 22, which is a greater number than 21. And 21 is what you need to have in order to win, and anything greater is considered a "Bust" (which is also defined as "Losing") is exactly what happened here.
Our protagonist lost all his money, so I cried at the end. He should have known the house always wins...... :(
