Warning: Spoilers
Very interesting and different episode to the previous ones. All of them are trapped in his mind space, back in the Psy Ward, each dealing with their own personal issues and each not really realizing that this is all David's creation.

Syd suspects more than anyone else but can't quite crack it and tries to persuade David that this place is not the future. Melanie gets a peak of where they really are and is presented with an opportunity to save Syd and David. I also wonder if Lenny perhaps is created to help them all resolve their fears and become stronger. This episode is even more weird than the first one. Kind of frustrating when it comes to end because we are still left with many unanswered questions.

Still enjoyable and I am really enjoying the trip of this series... With two more episodes I have little idea of how they are going to wrap up this first season.

Aubrey plaza

This sixth part is a mind trip that features some great scene stealers by Lenny or the great Aubrey Plaza that would shame a parks and recs fan with her "dance scene" and other brilliant scene.

After the incredible part 5 (which may be the best episode tied maybe with 1), the sixth is a mind fuc$ in her arterial plane directed by the legendary Hiro Murai who directs so many famous episodes (look it up). Lenny is casted superbly and part 6 showcases Aubrey Plaza talents and why she is essential to this show! 8/10

Warning: Spoilers
Brilliant episode, and tied with Chapter 5 as my favourites of Season 1.

This series is experimental in nature, and Chapter 6 is no different. I understand this episode frustrates some people because it - quite literally - pauses the story, just when we were starting to get answers. Face it, guys, it was never going to be that easy.

I've also read comments about how this episode is pointless because nothing technically happens. To be fair, the same could be said about some of the earlier chapters. In Chapters 2 and 3, we slowly learn more about David and his condition, while very little is actually happening in the real world. This series is not about action. It is psychological. Nearly half of the characters in this show are PSYCHIC. The fact that there is a dream episode in this show should not shock people.

Plus we do learn some things here. We get some more insight into the parasite, its motivations, and its connection to David. Aubrey Plaza really shines in these moments. I know that sympathetic villains are really popular right now, but I just love it when a villain is evil and twisted. This episode has one of the best evil villain scenes in any movie or TV show, and it's literally just two actors in a room talking to each other.

As far as I'm concerned, this episode is Legion at its best. It's creepy. It's mysterious. It's atmospheric. This show is so well-written, and this episode gives the actors time and room to just perform and work off of each other. Chapter 6 ends on an awesome cliff hanger, which leaves you wondering how on earth our main characters are going to overcome this adversary.

9/10 - Amazing.

Brilliant

I have never written a review on IMDb, but I felt compelled to add my two cents after reading all of the negative reviews. If you have made it to episode 6, then you should be aware that this is not your normal superhero type show. It is not an all action, no thinking show like say, Mad Max. This show, and especially this episode, requires the viewer to actually think. What is reality? Is there an objective reality or is it only subjective? What does it mean to be "crazy"? What does it mean to be "me"?

This episode was beautifully paced, unique in its storytelling, and a joy to watch. For me, the episode ended too quickly. I wanted more! I realize everybody does not share my opinion or like the things I like. But I needed to write a review because I felt too many people were missing the point, criticizing the episode for what it is not and not appreciating the show for what it is.

If you are looking for show that is non stop action, gunfights in every episode, violence for violences sake, and scantily clothed models, this show (and episode) is not for you. That is OK. But don't suddenly get annoyed because there isn't enough action. Have you actually seen the first 5 episodes?

However, if you want to see an original show that has amazing music and a great original score, that assaults your senses (visually amazing), requires attention and critical thinking, and is superbly acted and directed, then this show is for you. 10/10

this episode slows some of the visual madness down... and it's the best yet
Quinoa198427 March 2017
There's a few reasons - actually more - to sink deep into this episode of Legion. Everything that's going on is taking place in a mental ward that doesn't exist; everything at this moment in time is frozen (think in a sense, oddly enough, like one of those scenes where Quicksilver sees everything moving so slowly in time he's able to stop things from going on in micro-milli-seconds as if it's regular speed), and it's at a point where a character may be shot from bullets by a machine gun. But this mental ward is all in the realm of 'Lenny', the terrifying, physically-slinky and mad-eyed Aubrey Plaza (easily her most intense performance by far and one I always can't get enough of), and at times she acts as the 'therapist' for our mutant heroes who are trapped in her/the "Parasites" realm.

While some characters try to figure out just what the hell is going on - there may be a door that leads somewhere, there's the 'other' plane where Jemaine Clement still is in the block of ice, etc - others, namely David, seem... oddly okay with the situation at present!

The direction and writing unfolds with the precise logic of a dream and a thriller, which means there's little logic to go by at times... which is just the way that I like to see things go down. But what's great is that it's both a slight return to the setting of the first episode, where David and Syd first met, while also having that "deva-ju but not" feeling as Syd also says; everything feels *off* and that's the feeling the filmmakers give to the episode. That is, of course, until things start to crack all around them and the episode's suspense intensifies further: at what point will Lenny finally drop all pretenses and do what she/It feels compelled to do on to David? While every scene with her is shockingly good, so are ones where another 'orderly' in this ward makes people take their pills and, at one point to David, practically vomits up... nothing at all.

Again, the filmmaking here is unsettling most of all because it's not as reliant as the trippy, stream of consciousness editing style. I loved that approach too, but here it makes more sense that everything seems normal in the cutting and shooting - too normal, as it turns out to be the case, with Syd only getting flashes of the past and her experiences with David as a fever dream-nightmare scape. This might be my favorite episode so far for how there's this restraint, relatively speaking, while at the same time keeping up that hyper-surreal tone, whether it's in the reactions David has to Syd when she tries to tell him he's schizophrenic and he has no memory of this, or when Cary and Kerry get into their own mis-adventures (to put it lightly).

I think the success of this show in general is in comparison to so many other works of television that may be good to great, but don't transcend material with the artistry available. This could be playing on an IMAX screen just as easily, if not more-so, than on a 32-inch HD TV: like practically all of this show, which dazzles more than nearly all recent comic book movies (including the other trippy ones Marvel puts out like Doctor Strange), it uses color, sound, montage, dialog and performance to innovate the medium and find a new way to tell a story, not just for the sake of making it 'trippy' for the hell of it.

Amazing

Episode 6 was for me by far the best episode of the season. Scrap that.. it was the best episode I've seen out of any show probably since Red Wedding. Mind blowing story and script and definitely worth watching. The back and forth dialogues are brilliant. This episode makes you question your original theories on the show. I haven't seen storytelling like this before. Absolutely brilliant!!

My first review of the series
GraXXoR19 May 2019
Five minutes into this episode, I knew we were in for another doozy. The off-kilter pacing and the skin-itching uneasiness lying below the surface gives rise to a creep factor that is as ephemeral yet everpresent as Haller's adversary himself.

How this episode managed to frame the essence of everyone's desire for peace and solace nestling in the ichor of dementia and terror was quite unsettling, nay disturbing.

And that painful yearning for a message, an answer, a sign that they unconsciously know is there but can't quite put their finger is delivered courtesy of Hiro Murai's extraordinary ability to turn even the most mind bending tale into a vivid, piercing performance.

I will get around to reviewing the other episodes, especially the epic episode 5, but this was just too outstanding to wait until the end of my binge.

Right, off to watch Ep 7.

What a waste of an episode
MegaMaexn21 March 2017
I have liked the show so far for it's unusual quirkiness, but this episode was a total waste of time... It did not further the story in any way whatsoever and left me completely unimpressed with characters, writing and (almost non-existing) special effects. Just hope that this was the only dud in season 1. Dear reader/viewer, you can safely skip it, save yourself some time!

residentevikl16 March 2017
Vague episode, poor story line, they are unclear what they want to show to the people. You just keep finding instances which are relevant to the story.story is very sluggish and passive.Directing and writing at its worst.Total waste of 50 min.I could have a nap rather than watching this piece of crap.

dred-787-98393218 March 2017
This episode was so slow and so boring, I took a nap during it and at the end, absolutely nothing had changed. I couldn't give any spoilers if I had wanted to, because nothing happened. It was all a boring dream sequence when all the major players are inmates at the asylum. Snore. Pass this one and hope for better upcoming episodes.

Terrible waste of time
Roydsy_Reviews21 March 2017
This was an awful episode. I have to concur with the other reviews that this episode was a complete waste of time. They could have done this in 10 minutes and moved on with the story, but no... they had to make us sit there watching more mental asylum crap. Enough already. We get it. He has a mental illness...

Aubry Plaza is a complete toss fest. Critics are claiming she'll get awarded for her ridiculous performance in this episode. The creepy guy with the perm has more acting ability in his scowl than she has in her left pinky.

What even is this? A waste of time
lendis-5947610 September 2017
So I've just recently picked up on Legion and began binge watching it a few days ago, I was instantly hooked and enjoyed the ride. However, when I stumbled upon chapter 6...it all took a turn for the worse.

This episode contains nothing but the most predictable dialogue that adds nothing to the almost non-existent story/plot. The only reason I can imagine for you to watch this is to be extremely bored.

You can skip this episode if you choose to, you won't miss out on a thing.

Also...how in the world is this rated 8,3? I can't imagine a sane person rating this episode that HIGH.

Avant-Garde Garbage
brokefoot-1177421 March 2017
The name of this show is Legion...not Psycho Ward! Their formula sucks. They have 80% mental stuff, and 20% mutant & action stuff. This is a formula for disaster. I started watching this show because wanted to see a show about mutants and superheroes, but instead I got this crap. Whatever the hell this is... If they don't fix this, then this show won't make it to a second season. And I get that this is "The Artistic" mutant show, but they need to seriously reel it in. Too much style, and too little substance.

How to waste your time and test your nerves
ggrgou17 January 2019
In a series struggling to stretch to eight episodes by awkwardly employing silly songs, silent scenes and supposedly Hitchcockian devices, this particular episode is the ultimate cacophony. Awful and a complete waste of time - not to mention how ridiculously annoying - and laughably acted - the Lenny/Doctor Busker character is!

You can safely skip this one. I recommend you do.
toonyjakes19 July 2020
This shows been awesome, but this episode immediately kicks off as a time waster. Roles completely change, and rather than spending minutes in an alternate reality, the whole episode drags like an oversized wedding dress. The moments are well done as always but JUST GET TO IT ALREADY. We are beyonddd understanding the powers and delusions David Haller has. Some things are confusing due to depth, like Inception, but it can be figured out. This episode was just confusing on purpose. The following episode gets into gear right away! And I mean you get it all laid out in front of you, within minutes! This episode was a waste. Watch 5-10 minutes of it and skip to the next.

Warning: Spoilers
I like the show a lot but this episode is just boring. Its clear after 10 min that non of it is the reality but it just keeps on going. Nothing interesting happens in my opinion. I liked the mental illness subject. Whats real and what isnt? But this is just straight up to much. I hope this is the last we see if this. Because after 50min of nothing "real" happening, im kinda sick of it.

Hannibal Lecter
heaan-lasai14 February 2021
This series is gripping, well planned. A masterpiece.

This episode, however....

...not so much. The authors believe that "repulsive sex crime" & "scary" are the same thing.

The female antagonist was, from episode 1, the worst actor in the mix. But every sun has its spots, so viewers love the series despite her underwhelming ability to elicit emotional response.

In this episode, this already weak actress tries to walk around slurping her lips as if she was Hannibal Lecter, and subjecting the protagonists to sexual abuse.
