So hard to see...

The rescue of this film is the way in which the couple's love becomes sacrificed, because it questions whether love is really going to save each of the characters, and how far the ambition and guilt will come with the decisions they are making. The actions of the couple and another of the characters are realistic, and in the chaotic part of the plot they manage to convey the tension of what they are living.

Things are not as they seem

This movie is very interesting, first of all I thought (because of the tittle) was going to be about love or a love triangle, and the other thing that kept me watching besides the great quality of the film is that it has like two velocities, slow super slow, enough for me to almost giving up on it and shockingly fast. I definitely recommend it.

Less soul than a video of a buttered toast falling

In this so called "new Greek wave" drama we follow the story of a young migrant that decides to surrogate for a wealthy couple. Problem is there is nothing new, or even Greek about this film. The shots are plain and stale. The acting is nowhere to be found and the film lacks soul. The actors tend to stare deep into each other's eyes for no particular reason expecting to raise tension and you can almost hear their sigh waiting for the director's "Cut" shout. The film is directed like linking the dots between objects that try hard to overshadow the lack of talent. The writing is dry and you get the feeling that no one had fun shooting this. Unnecessary is the best word to describe this film and it's high time Avranas found a new hobby cause apparently filming is not for everyone.

Brutal...just for the sake of being brutal.

Warning: Spoilers
Unnecessary rape scene, too much weirdness in the way people act in the movie. Nothing in this movie seems natural.

Where are we going with this?

It's all a bit of a muddle. Now I like the meaningful silences of Continental films as much as the next man, but the silences do need to be meaningful! In "Love Me Not" the viewer is expected to fill in the emotional content of these silences, but what the heck is this content? The film is supposed to be about "surrogacy" - but in real cases of surrogacy, a lot of the action goes on in fertility clinics, with doctors harvesting eggs and mounting microscope slides and persuading sperm to get into ova, and then implanting some fertilised eggs in the uterus, etc. Perhaps surrogacy is not the right word here. It's going to be Daddy's baby, but not Mommy's. The "surrogate" is going to be the natural mother. OK, so no fertility clinics will be required... But wait! It's really a crime story? The body of a woman is burned beyond recognition. But the body of which woman? The best aspects of this film are the neat ironies, and the authentic details about how the fraud is put together, and how life insurance works and how cases are investigated, or not investigated. A crime story? So where are the cops? But cops won't be necessary, because the fraudster wife is simply so incompetent. Observe some of the rudimentary precautions please, Mrs, please. So crime doesn't pay. Retribution is inevitable. But at this point we plunge into some really dreary sadism. Are any of the participants enjoying themselves? It's the worst advertisement for BDSM, ever. The Greeks invented tragic drama, but the tragedy here is that good materials have been put together so badly.

Warning: Spoilers
This is one of the most disgusting movies I've ever seen. First 2/3 was quite interesting thought predictable. But last 20 min I felt sick and wanted to leave. It completely destroyed any good impression I had before. I dont see any reasons to show all this perversions. Even though my comments may attract some pervert to watch it. I fell sick in my stomach thats all my impression about the movie. Pure manipulation!

Whoever made this movie should just give up on his job.

"Love Me Not" is a film that falls short of its promise. While it attempts to delve into the complexities of human relationships, it ultimately feels contrived and emotionally disconnected. The plot revolves around a troubled couple, exploring themes of jealousy, betrayal, and obsession. Unfortunately, the execution leaves much to be desired.

One of the major issues with the film is its pacing. The slow and disjointed narrative makes it difficult for the audience to become fully engaged with the characters and their struggles. It feels like the story is dragging, and the viewer is left waiting for something substantial to happen.

Furthermore, the characters themselves lack depth and nuance. They come across as one-dimensional, making it hard to empathize with their predicaments. The lead actors' performances also leave much to be desired, with wooden delivery that fails to evoke genuine emotion.

The cinematography, while visually striking at times, doesn't make up for the film's other shortcomings. It relies heavily on dark and moody visuals, which, while aesthetically pleasing, can become tiresome and fail to enhance the storytelling.

The dialogue in "Love Me Not" is often stilted and unnatural, making it difficult for the audience to connect with the characters on an emotional level. This lack of authentic dialogue further detracts from the film's overall impact.

In conclusion, "Love Me Not" is a disappointing attempt at exploring complex human emotions and relationships. Its slow pacing, underdeveloped characters, lackluster performances, and contrived dialogue make it a challenging watch. While it may have had potential, it ultimately fails to deliver a compelling and emotionally resonant cinematic experience.

Mister Avramis has yet again disappointed. Writing movies isn't for everyone...
