Jessica Walter and Robert Wagner first worked together 48 years earlier. Walter guest starred on Wagner's TV series, It Takes a Thief, in 1969. (They were also both in the 1979 movie Airport '79 but had no scenes together.)
The ship shown in port that Gibbs and Bishop visit is an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer. Ships of this type are multi purpose war ships and can be used for any number of combat operations ranging from precision missile attacks on land and sea based targets, anti-submarine warfare and ballistic missile defense. Arleigh Burke-class destroyers are capable of intercepting and shooting down ballistic missiles, and even satellites if needed. Armaments include 90 cell Mk-41 Vertical Launching system capable of launching several surface to air, surface to land and anti-missile variants. 2 Mk-141 Harpoon missile launchers for surface warfare, a 5 inch gun mounted on the bow, a 20 mm Phalanx cannon for anti-air defensive use and two Mark 32 torpedo tubes.
