- A pair of aging former Apollo astronauts, who decades ago rocketed to the Moon, take on their toughest mission yet as they, and the sassy widow of their third "space buddy," drive across the country to attend a tribute dinner.
- When retired Apollo astronaut, WILL GIBSON, refuses to go to D.C. to be honored for his service, his devoted wife, JAN, guilts him into acting like the man he used to be... young, spirited, courageous and willing to be thrust into the great unknown. Begrudgingly acquiescing, Will decides to see if his estranged right-hand man, retired astronaut JACK MCDEAVY, will be his co-pilot once again. Hell no. But as the defiant Jack realizes he can't be stuck in an old crusty retirement home and has a bit more gas in the tank, they head out on the open road to D.C., tackling their own demons and the world at large. When BRENDA, an ever-feisty widow of their third Apollo warrior, shows up to join them, their wild ride gets even more adventurous, reminding them that the NASA wives were just as tough as the guys who touched the dust. Just as they hit their stride, Jack's daughter, SANDY, hot on their trail, worries about her father out gallivanting with his questionable health. Yet nothing is going to stop our seasoned trio as they find their way, grappling with what it means to be celebrated as a hero while piecing together their own celestial memories beyond the moon.—Ken Jones
